  • Publication number: 20230190444
Abstract: The acute and chronic devices and methods described herein include a body lumen fluid flow modulator including an upstream flow accelerator and a downstream flow decelerator. The fluid flow modulator preferably includes one or more openings that define a gap/entrainment region that provides a pathway through which additional fluid from a branch lumen(s) is entrained into the fluid stream flowing from the upstream flow accelerator to the downstream flow decelerator. Delivery devices including a sheath and inner assembly also are provided for delivering the flow modulator to the body lumen. The delivery device may maintain the flow modulator in its collapsed, delivery state upon retraction of the sheath for ease of readjustment within the body lumen prior to full deployment of the flow modulator within the body lumen.

  • Patent number: 10080838
Abstract: Catheter cannula, catheter, and catheterization method, for administering a fluid or/and substance to, or for draining a fluid or/and substance from, a treatment space of a body vessel, duct, or cavity. In some embodiments the cannula includes: an elongated flexible tube mountable on a needle, and having an invasive section and a non-invasive section; and at least one anchoring element protruding from, a surface of the invasive section in a manner such that an operative configuration of each anchoring element increases outer circumferential diameter of the cannula to an extent less than lumen diameter of the body vessel, duct, or cavity, at the treatment space, thereby anchoring the invasive section to inside the body vessel, duct, or cavity, at the treatment space. The catheter includes a needle and the cannula mounted thereupon.

  • Publication number: 20160000341
Abstract: In some embodiments, a method and/or device are disclosed for measuring a pressure drop over a portion of a body lumen. Optionally, the pressure drop for two different flow conditions may be used to find the stiffness of the lumen. In some embodiments the device may be calibrated, for example by correcting for distortion, for example the common mode pressure distortion. Pressure drop and or stiffness measures may be used to evaluate a treatment procedure and/or a stenosis.
