  • Patent number: 11544777
Abstract: One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for selecting content items for transmission to client devices are provided. A request for content associated with a client device may be received. Bid values and/or click probabilities associated with content items may be determined. A probability of receiving a negative signal associated with a content item of the content items from the client device responsive to presenting the content item via the client device may be determined based upon a user profile associated with the client device. A content item score, of content item scores associated with the content items, may be generated based upon the probability, a click probability and/or a bid value associated with the content item. The content item may be selected from the content items for presentation via the client device based upon the content item scores. The content item may be transmitted to the client device.

  • Publication number: 20220398180
Abstract: In an example, sets of event information associated with events may be identified. The events may include intentional click events, accidental click events and/or skip events. Accidental click probabilities associated with the accidental click events and/or the skip events may be determined. Machine learning model training may be performed, using the sets of event information associated with the events and labels associated with the events, to generate a first machine learning model. The labels may include second labels associated with the intentional click events and/or third labels associated with the accidental click events and/or the skip events. The second labels may correspond to an intentional click classification. The third labels may be based upon the accidental click probabilities. Click probabilities associated with content items may be determined using the first machine learning model. A content item may be selected for presentation via a client device based upon the click probabilities.

  • Patent number: 11483401
Abstract: One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods are provided. Event information associated with a plurality of events may be identified. The plurality of events may be associated with client devices and entities. A network profile associated with the client devices and the entities may be generated based upon the event information. A similarity profile associated with the client devices may be generated based upon the network profile. The similarity profile may be indicative of one or more similarity scores associated with a first client device and one or more client devices. A user profile associated with the first client device may be modified, based upon the similarity profile and/or one or more user profiles associated with the one or more client devices, to generate a modified user profile. Content may be selected for presentation via the first client device based upon the modified user profile.

  • Patent number: 11361038
Abstract: The present teaching relates to providing a recommendation for subscribing to or unsubscribing from an electronic communication. In one example, actions of a user are obtained with respect to electronic communications of the user. One or more categories of the electronic communications are determined. A state of the user is determined based on the actions and the one or more categories. The state is either a discovery state indicating that the user expresses an interest to receive electronic communications associated with a specific category or a cleaning state indicating that the user lacks an interest in one or more received electronic communications. A subscribe recommendation for subscribing to electronic communications associated with the specific category is provided when the state is determined to be a discovery state.

  • Patent number: 11233758
Abstract: Method, systems, and computer-readable for selectively sharing media among two or more client devices. Initially, media (e.g., image(s), video, audio, text, etc.) can be rendered via a first client device. Portions of the media rendered on a first client device can be selectively encoded, thereby masking the selectively encoded portions. The media can then be shared, including the encoded portions, with a second client device. Using the first client device, an operation can be implemented for authorizing decoding of the portions of the media by the second client device, thereby allowing the decoded portions of the media to be rendered by the second client device without masking.

  • Patent number: 10699198
Abstract: Method, system, and programs for estimating interests of a plurality of users with respect to a new piece of information are disclosed. In one example, historical interests of the plurality of users are obtained with respect to one or more existing pieces of information. One or more users are selected from the plurality of users. Historical interests of the one or more users can minimize an objective function over the plurality of users. Interests of the one or more users are obtained with respect to the new piece of information. Estimated interests of the plurality of users are generated with respect to the new piece of information based on the obtained interests of the one or more users.

  • Publication number: 20180232660
Abstract: The present teaching relates to generating an updated model related to advertisement selection. In one example, a request is obtained for updating a model to be utilized for selecting an advertisement. A plurality of copies of the model is generated. The model is pre-selected based on a performance metric related to advertisement selection. Based on each of the plurality of copies, a candidate model is created by modifying one or more parameters of the copy of the model to create a plurality of candidate models. One of the plurality of candidate models is selected based on the performance metric. The steps of generating, creating, and selecting are repeated until a predetermined condition is met. The model is updated with the latest selected candidate model when the predetermined condition is met.

  • Patent number: 9910898
Abstract: Systems and methods for building a latent item vector and item bias for a new item in a collaborative filtering system are disclosed. The method includes dividing incoming users into intervals with each interval having a learning phase and a selection phase. The learning phase scores each incoming user according to a best estimate latent vector and bias and saves the highest score. In the selection each incoming user is scored and a user exceeding the highest score is selected. The best estimate latent vector and bias is then updated based on the user's vector and bias, and the user's interaction with the item. The updated best estimate latent vector is then used in further intervals for learning and selecting users.

  • Patent number: 9535938
Abstract: A method for estimating model parameters. The method comprises receiving a data set related to a plurality of users and associated content, partitioning the data set into a plurality of sub data sets in accordance with the users so that data associated with each user are not partitioned into more than one sub data set, storing each of the sub data sets in a separate one of a plurality of user data storages, each of said data storages being coupled with a separate one of a plurality of estimators, storing content associated with the plurality of users in a content storage, where the content storage is coupled to the plurality of estimators so that the content in the content storage is shared by the estimators, and estimating, asynchronously by each estimator, one or more parameters associated with a model based on data from one of the sub data sets.

  • Patent number: 9348924
Abstract: A method for adjusting one or more parameters associated with a model. The method comprises obtaining, from a first source, first information related to activity of a user. The method further comprises adjusting one or more parameters associated with a model based on the first information collected within a first length of time, and obtaining, from a second source, second information related to activity of the user. The method further comprises adjusting the one or more parameters associated with the model based on the second information collected within a second length of time and a measure indicative of performance of the model, wherein the second length of time is larger than the first length of time.

  • Patent number: 9191788
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for selectively delivering shared information. The disclosed systems and methods enable a sending user to decide what context of information is to be shared, in that a sending user can determine when and where information is shared. This enables increased social engagement towards relevant information. Additionally, this enables a vast opportunity for commercial opportunities, whereby advertisements can be served contingent upon a consumer's context, and/or only when the product or service offered to the consumer is relevant.
