    Abstract: Methods of generating image data for three-dimensional topographical volumes, and associated systems, devices, and methods are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method of generating a volumetric dataset for surgical navigation includes obtaining a three-dimensional graphical volume of a patient representing one or more surface contours of patient anatomy. The method can further include voxelating the three-dimensional topographical volume to generate a three-dimensional voxelated volume, and volume rendering the three-dimensional voxelated volume to a sequence of two-dimensional cross-sectional images that can each include a two-dimensional slice of the three-dimensional voxelated volume. The method can include conforming the sequence to an imaging standard (e.g., the DICOM Standard).

    Abstract: A mold, apparatus, and method for providing a realistic simulation of a breast augmentation. The mold is an onlay mold that is additively manufactured with a negative mold of a topography of a native breast on one side and an ideal augmented topography on the opposite side. The mold is adherable to a torso of a patient over a native breast to illustrate a real look and feel of a completed augmentation. The mold may also be positioned within a pocketed brassiere to provide the simulation. The mold is generated from a three dimensional image taken of the patient's torso and breast.

    Abstract: A lip positioner shows the surgeon where the upper lip is to be repositioned. It includes a mouthpiece and a platform extending to support the upper lip. It may be fabricated from poured stone in dental casts. The material sits on the upper teeth and has a forward facing platform sitting under the upper lip to “lift up” the lip to its new desired position during and after surgery. It can be used to show the proposed position of the upper lip preliminary to performing plastic surgery or hold the upper lip in a desired position while sleeping or working to retain the upper lip in a desired orientation or to hold the lip in the desired position during healing surgery to minimize the gravitational pull on the lip which will also minimize scarring of the incision area. The method of making and using the lip positioner is also disclosed.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of inducing angiogenesis in a cell or tissue by applying an electromagnetic field to the cell or tissue under conditions effective to induce angiogenesis. Also disclosed is a method of treating an ischemic condition in a patient by applying an electromagnetic field to ischemic tissue in a patient under conditions effective to treat the ischemic condition by inducing angiogenesis. A method of tissue engineering is also disclosed. This method involves providing a tissue scaffold and subjecting the tissue scaffold to an electromagnetic field under conditions effective to form a vascularized tissue scaffold. Further disclosed is a method of inducing activity of angiogenic growth factors by applying an electromagnetic field to a cell or tissue under conditions effective to induce activity of an angiogenic growth factor.
