The method comprises capturing a video stream of traffic in a field of view of a first traffic monitoring system; identifying a license plate number of a vehicle shown in the captured view stream; obtaining data streams from at least one second traffic monitoring system; identifying a driving pattern of the vehicle based on the captured video stream and the obtained data streams; and analyzing the identified driving pattern and the license plate number of the vehicle to determine a suspect traffic violation committed by the vehicle.
