  • Patent number: 5490456
Abstract: A multiple station automated cap printer includes a plurality of printing heads mounted in fixed circumferentially spaced relationship to one another and are vertically movable between a raised non-printing position and a lowered printing position. A plurality of printing mandrels are disposed in fixed circumferentially spaced relationship to one another and rotatably mounted about a vertical axis between releasably fixed and precisely aligned positions below a respective one of the printing head. The mandrels include a cylindrical cap receiving platen which is rotatably mounted about an axis of rotation extending in a radial direction relative to the rotational path of the mandrel. Each mandrel includes a trolley frame which carries the cylindrical platen in a linear path which mirrors the linear path of travel of a squeegee mounted within each of the printing heads while the platen is rotated through an arcuate distance equal to the linear path of travel of the squeegee.

  • Patent number: 5327827
Abstract: An automated pallet and garment retaining frame for screen printing apparatus including a pallet mounted on a supporting base and provided with a planar, horizontally extending printing surface for receiving a layer of material to be printed. The retaining frame includes a central opening and is mounted for pivotal movement to the supporting base about a first hinge disposed rearwardly of said pallet relative to an opposing front end adapted to load the garment for printing. The rear hinge is also movably mounted in a cam slot for travel in a vertical and horizontal direction as the pallet is caused to move by a piston and cylinder assembly located between the rear hinge point and the rear end of the retaining frame. The forward end of the retaining frame is adapted to engage the forward end of the pallet to form a second hinge about which the retaining frame rotates as it is caused to move between an open fully raised position and a closed position retaining the garment in taut condition on the pallet.

  • Patent number: 4723487
Abstract: A screen printing apparatus particularly useful for printing numerals on athletic wear characterized by a plurality of printing head assemblies, each of which include a screen receiving socket, are mounted in a horizontal extending side by side relationship in a plane disposed above a printing station provided with a material receiving pallet. The printing head assemblies are slideably carried on a frame support for selective horizontal movement of a given printing head assembly over the pallet. Each printing head assembly is mounted to a sliding frame or carriage for independent vertical pivotal movement toward and away from the pallet to define a printing and non-printing position. Means are also provided to releasably and selectively fix each of the printing head assembly means with a screen mounted thereon in one of a plurality of printing positions overlying the pallet upon pivoting the printing head disposed directly over the pallet to a printing position.

  • Patent number: 4649815
Abstract: A multiple registration position screen mounting apparatus or printing head assembly particularly well-suited for screen printing of jersey numerals of like indicia on garments. The printing head assembly of the present invention includes a screen receiving socket portion slideably mounted for horizontal movement between a plurality of releasably fixed registration positions related to the desired placement of one and two digit numerals on athletic jerseys or the like. The printing head assembly is fixed to a conventional vertically pivoted arm mounted on a main frame adjacent to a pallet and includes a pair of horizontal guide bars upon which a carriage forming a screen receiving socket portion is slideably mounted. A registration plate is fixed to the main frame and is provided with spaced positioning slots adapted to mate with a locking pin depending from the socket portion to releasably fit the socket portion in one of the predetermined positions of travel along the guide bars.

  • Patent number: 4026573
Abstract: A portable foldable motor scooter with a substantially triangular chassis, each corner of which is pivotable and one leg of which is hinged to allow the chassis to be folded to a collapsed condition. A steering column is pivotally connected to the forward corner of the chassis and is detachable from the chassis. The driver's seat is supported on front and rear linkages, the front linkage including a triangular portion containing the leg hinge of the chassis. A single removable pin normally locks this hinge and maintains the front seat-supporting linkage rigid. Upon removal of the pin the chassis can be folded to its collapsed position and the seat can be swung downwardly toward the rear wheel and can be latched to the rear wheel fender, holding the chassis in its collapsed position. The steering column has handle bars which can be swung inwardly and fastened so as not to protrude from the folded vehicle.
