Abstract: A method for calculating properties of printing elements which are part of a print job includes providing a range (112) of sheets for printing; providing desired imposition schemes (200) for the print job; calculating a set of printing elements (134) required for the range of sheets for printing according to a desired imposition schemes; splitting a set of printing elements into plurality of printing elements subsets where each of the subsets contain less printing elements than in the set of printing elements; calculating processing parameters (512), required for processing of printing elements, for each of the printing elements subsets; calculation of the printing elements and processing parameters is performed without calculation of the imposition layout.
