  • Publication number: 20050077646
Abstract: A process for manufacturing an electret article, comprising passing melt-extruded thermoplastic resin fibers through a mist space substantially formed from droplets of a polar liquid, and then collecting the fibers, wherein the thermoplastic resin fibers contain electrical-chargeability enhancing agents, and the average diameter of the droplets is less than 20 ?m, is disclosed. Further, an apparatus for manufacturing an electric article, comprising (1) a means for melt-extruding a thermoplastic resin containing electrical-chargeability enhancing agents to form thermoplastic resin fibers; (2) a means for spraying droplets consisting essentially of a polar liquid to a space downstream of a direction of said thermoplastic resin extruded from said means for melt-extruding a thermoplastic resin, to thereby form a mist space, the average diameter of said droplets being less than 20 ?m; and (3) a means for collecting said thermoplastic resin fibers which have been passed through said mist space, is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5377342
Abstract: A processor module generates a data write request and sends data specified thereby to each of two data buffers respectively provided in two data storage units, each having a data storage device, such as a magnetic disc device. When the data has been completely written into each of the data buffers, a write completion response is sent back to the processor module from each of the data storage units. When the processor module has received the write completion responses from the data storage units, it recognizes that the data write request has been completed.

  • Patent number: 4604618
Abstract: In a time-division multiplex transmission system, a host machine (3) and a plurality of addressable terminals (51 to 56) are connected together by way of a signal line (6). The same address (A) is assigned to a group of the terminals (51 to 54) so that the group of terminals (51 to 54) may be placed under control at the same time upon receipt of a transmission signal (SS) from the host machine (3). Reply signals (RS1 to RS4) from the respective terminals (51 to 54) are adjusted so that they are sent back at different points in time. This enables the host machine (3) to determine which of the terminals sent back the reply signal (RS1 to RS4).

  • Patent number: 4586040
Abstract: A time division multiplex remote control system controls data transmission between a central controller and a plurality of addressable remote terminals coupled to the central controller through a signal line. The central controller transmits to each of terminals a transmission signal comprising address data addressing a terminal, control data, a reply signal standing-by period defining signal for defining a period for receiving a reply signal from the corresponding terminal, an interruption request signal standing-by period defining signal for defining a period for receiving an interruption request signal from the terminal. Each terminal receives the transmission signal and, when the received address data coincides with an address of the terminal, accepts the control data and sends a reply signal during a reply signal standing-by period.

  • Patent number: 4139737
Abstract: A time division multiplex transmission system including a central unit and a plurality of terminal units connected through a single pair of bus lines to the central unit. The central unit transmits at least a set of address and control signals sequentially to the respective terminal units and also an electric power required for operating and controlling the respective terminal units at least accompanying the address and control signals. The respective terminal units include a condenser for accumulating the electric power from the central unit so that each terminal unit corresponding to each address signal from the central unit performs any desired operation with the accumulated power and transmits a response signal depending on a result of the operation to the central unit responsive to the control signal.
