  • Publication number: 20030095815
Abstract: When a transfer and conveyance belt mechanism has already started moving and a recording sheet has just passed through a cyan color photoreceptor drum, photoreceptor drums for cyan, magenta and yellow colors have not yet abutted on the transfer and conveyance belt. Then, only when the recording sheet has passed through the yellow color photoreceptor drum, the photoreceptor drums for cyan, magenta and yellow abut transfer and conveyance belt at the same time.

  • Patent number: 6561543
Abstract: A child seat (CRS) laid on a seat cushion of a front passenger seat is provided with a pair of left and right fixture attachments, which are spaced apart from each other by a predetermined distance in the direction of the width of the child seat. The fixture attachments extend rearwards from the child seat. Each of these fixture attachments is provided with a lock bar, which can be detachably coupled to a fixture bar hanging across rear portions of left and right seat cushion frames. Furthermore, there is provided a child seat detector that detects whether or not the child seat has been mounted based on movements of the lock bars resulting from coupling of the fixture attachments to the fixture bar.

  • Patent number: 6563429
Abstract: A weight detector for detecting the weight of a passenger seated on a vehicle seat includes a first load sensor and a second load sensor provided on opposite sides of a rear portion of the vehicle seat. Each of the first and second load sensors has a predetermined detection range. The weight detector further includes a third load sensor and a fourth load sensor provided on opposite sides of a front portion of the vehicle seat. Each of the third and fourth load sensors has a predetermined detection range. If a detection value based on a load acquired by one of the first through fourth load sensors exceeds its detection range, the weight detector uses an old value that was determined under proper condition. Otherwise, the weight detector determines the size of the passenger based on the currently detected values.

  • Patent number: 6509653
Abstract: According to the invention, the presence of a child seat mounted on a vehicle seat or the presence of a passenger seated in the vehicle seat is determined automatically. A child seat detecting apparatus incorporated into a vehicle seat is provided with a plurality of load sensors comprising stress sensors or the like, and a determining function for monitoring a relative change of each load detected by each load sensor and determining whether a child seat is mounted on the vehicle seat or whether a passenger is seated in the vehicle seat by the difference of the change of each load. Accordingly, this child seat detecting apparatus makes it possible to accurately determine whether a child seat is mounted on the vehicle seat or whether a person of small stature yet who does not require a child seat is seated in the vehicle seat.

  • Publication number: 20020154020
Abstract: In a passenger weight measuring apparatus, each of bend parts of front and rear brackets for supporting a seat to a vehicle main body side becomes bent and deformed in response to the load applied by the weight of the passenger sit in the seat. A load sensor on each the bend part detects the load based on the bend deformation and outputs a voltage signal of magnitude responsive to the load to a signal processor. The processor generates a load detection signal clamped in the voltage range corresponding to a preset passenger weight load range from the voltage signal and outputs the load detection signal to an output terminal. When the detected load is a collision load set in a load region out of the load range, the processor outputs an abnormal load detection signal different from the load detection signal to the same output terminal.

  • Patent number: 6397688
Abstract: A seating load detecting device in which a lower arm for supporting a seat cushion and a seat back is coupled with an upper rail by a front bracket and a rear bracket. A distortion gage is attached to the bracket. The bracket comprises a curved portion of a U-shape or V-shape. The lower arm and the upper rail are coupled to each other with the direction orthogonal to two opposing legs of the curved portion being vertical. The distortion gage has a total of four distortion detecting elements G11 to G22 distributed in a matrix distribution, two attached in the front and back directional plane of the legs and two attached in the width directional plane of the legs. Due to the Wheatstone bridge connection line of these elements, high gain of a seating load detection voltage e with respect to the amount in change of the vertical load Fv can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6378899
Abstract: In an airbag control apparatus, a control circuit is connected to a motor. Upon detecting a seated occupant having a body build equal to or greater than a predetermined value based on a value detected by a seat load sensor, the control circuit operates the motor in a predetermined direction to forcibly switch a manual cutoff switch from an OFF position to an ON position, and then locks the motor to prevent the manual cutoff switch from being switched to the OFF position.

  • Patent number: 6371513
Abstract: A side airbag is housed together with an inflator containing a high pressure gas as a module in a door-side side portion of a seat. The side airbag is deployed into a space between the door and an occupant sitting in the seat, on the basis of an instruction signal from an airbag control device. An occupant sensor is disposed at a position that is located in an upper portion of a seatback of the seat and shifted from a center of the seatback with respect to directions of a width thereof toward a vehicle body center. By using the occupant sensor, it is determined whether an occupant is present at a seat of a vehicle, excluding a case where an occupant having a constitution smaller than a predetermined constitution is leaning against the side vehicle body portion. The airbag control device permits operation of the side airbag if presence of an occupant is detected by the occupant sensor. The control device prohibits operation of the side airbag if absence of an occupant is detected by the occupant sensor.
