    Abstract: An electronic device system has an electronic device including at least one pair of an identifier and a validity flag. Identifier information and condition are registered into the identifier within the electronic device. When an access is made to the electronic device using an ordinary command, no response will be made since the validity flag is “irresponsive”. An identifier is transmitted to the electronic device using an identifier control command and if the condition is satisfied, the validity flag is set to be “responsive”, and thus operation to the electronic device becomes executable hereinafter.     Abstract: An apparatus for identifying an article including an interrogator to enable a tag to be identified, even if the tag is overlapped with another tag or a metal plate. The tag is attached to the article, and a memory for storing data about the article is provided in an RFID element connected to an antenna coil of the tag. The tag is activated by transmitting a radio wave of a frequency with which the tag resonates from a transmitting/receiving antenna of the interrogator. Data is read from the memory in response to a reading command, and data is writing into the memory in response to a writing command from the interrogator. The interrogator also includes an oscillation circuit for sweeping a radio wave transmitted from the transmitting/receiving antenna over a predetermined frequency range. The predetermined frequency range is a frequency range which includes all resonance frequencies of a plurality of the tags that vary based on plurality of overlapped articles to which the tags are attached.

The surface passivation film on an area where an ohmic electrodes is to be formed is removed and the ohmic electrode is formed on the area by vapor deposition. Thereafter, in the first-stage recess groove, a second-stage recess groove is formed by photolithography and wet or dry etching. A PN junction between a buried collector region 3 and a collector withstand voltage region 4 is subjected to reverse bias, and a depletion layer in the PN junction reaches a side dielectric isolation region 9a which dielectrically isolates the side of the collector withstand voltage region 4. A circumferential semiconductor region 14 which is in adjacency to the collector withstand voltage with the side dielectric isolation region 9a therebetween has an electric potential that is approximate to that at a base region 5 rather than that at the buried collector region 3. As a result, the depletion layer is subjected to the effect of low electric potential from both the base region 5 and the circumferential semiconductor region 14.

    Abstract: A thin film resistor on a semiconductor device may be laser trimmed while reducing the influence of film thickness of a passivation film formed on the thin film resistor. An underlying oxide film consisting of a BPSG film and a silicon oxide film is formed on an Si substrate. A silicon oxide film and a silicon nitride film are formed on the underlying film as a passivation film, and a silicon oxide film is formed on this assembly. The silicon oxide film contributes to controlling a variation of the laser energy absorption rate of a thin film resistor due to an uneven thickness of the silicon nitride film. Thus, it is possible to stabilize adjustment of the resistance value of the thin film resistor with a laser.
