  • Patent number: 4460269
Abstract: In an automatic document feeder for use in combination with an electrophotographic copying machine for feeding documents successively into the copying machine by separating and feeding the documents one by one from a stack of documents, the stacked documents are placed on a document table and are fed by a pair of rollers into a nip portion between a rotating separation roller and a separation plate having a rubber sheet applied thereto to separate and feed documents one by one from the lowermost one, and an edge detecting sensor for detecting a front edge of a document is arranged downstream with respect to the separation roller to produce an edge detection signal. When the edge detection signal is produced, the relevant document is once stopped at the front edge detecting sensor and after a start signal for denoting the completion of a copying operation for the preceding document is supplied from the copying machine, the relevant document standing by the front edge detecting sensor is advanced.

  • Patent number: 4298276
Abstract: A cassette roll sheet feeding apparatus for feeding a roll sheet from a cassette after the roll sheet cassette is loaded in a copying machine employs a sheet guide. The sheet guide is near a sheet outlet having at least one opening. An assembly such as a roller rotatably journaled by a shaft, serves to assist the feeding of the roll sheet through the outlet and is urged against the sheet guide through the leading end of the roll sheet.A sheet feed roller is in the copying machine body and projects through the opening in the sheet guide to hold the sheet in cooperation with the roller, when the cassette is mounted in the copying machine body. The sheet is held at the leading end portion when the cassette is removed from the copying machine body.

  • Patent number: 4271784
Abstract: An apparatus for discharging a used and fatigued developing agent from a magnetic brush developing device installed in a main body of a copying machine, which developing device has a housing with an opening at a position which is opposed to a charge retentive member such as a photosensitive drum and a record paper, a sleeve made of non-magnetic material is rotatably arranged in the housing such that it exposes the outside of the housing through the opening and a magnet assembly arranged in a space within the sleeve. First and second shafts are secured to the respective sides of the magnet assembly, a third shaft secured to the sleeve at a side which is opposed to that of the magnet assembly to which the first shaft is connected, first and second bearing members are arranged between the first and second shafts and the sleeve, respectively, and a manually operable handle is secured to either one of said second and third shafts.

  • Patent number: 4218129
Abstract: An electrophotographic apparatus particularly suitable for printing a plurality of duplicated copies from each of a plurality of sheet-like documents comprising a sheet-like document feeding device for feeding the sheet-like document at a constant velocity, an optical system including an illumination lamp and a projecting lens for exposing and scanning the document during the traveling of the document, a photosensitive drum for forming a latent image corresponding to the document image and retaining the latent image for a relatively long time period, a device for developing the latent image with toner particles, a device for transferring the toner image onto a record paper and a device for fixing the toner image on the paper. After the latent image has been once formed on the photosensitive drum the given number of duplicated copies are formed by repeatedly effecting the development, transfer and fixing operations.

  • Patent number: 4218135
Abstract: A roll sheet cassette loading apparatus having a cassette retaining member attached in a movable fashion in a copying machine body adapted to assume first and second positions selectively for removably supporting said cassette. The roll sheet in said cassette is maintained in a first condition providing the roll sheet in readiness for being advanced when the cassette retaining member assumes the first position. The roll sheet being released from the first condition to assume a second condition in which mounting and removal of said cassette in and out of the copying machine body occurs when the cassette retaining member assumes the second position.
