  • Patent number: 5381472
Abstract: A power source control circuit for a telephone set, includes a power source switch, a detecting circuit, a power hold circuit, and a control circuit. The power source switch supplies an external power to the telephone set. The detecting circuit detects an off-hook operation of the telephone set or an incoming signal arriving at a line. The power hold circuit holds the power source switch in an ON state for a predetermined time period on the basis of an output from the detecting circuit. The control circuit is activated by supply of the external power and transmits an extension signal for extending the ON state of the power source switch within the predetermine time period.

  • Patent number: 5033603
Abstract: A coin diameter discriminating device includes a plurality of optical sensors, a measuring section, and a calculating section, and a discriminating section. The plurality of optical sensors are arranged along the coin path so as to be separated from each other in a direction to cross a coin rolling direction and to oppose different positions of a coin which rolls downs. The measuring section measures a detection time of the coin on the basis of outputs from the optical sensors. The calculating section calculates a ratio of the detection times of two specific optical sensors which are supplied from the measuring section. The discriminating section discriminates a diameter of the inserted coin on the basis of a calculation result from the calculating section.

  • Patent number: 4995497
Abstract: A coin discrimination apparatus discriminates authenticity and a denomination of a coin by oscillation magnetic fields of high and low frequencies in a low frequency band in which generated magnetic fluxes allow a coin to pass therethrough. A first oscillation coil for generating an oscillation magnetic field of a low frequency and a reception coil are arranged at coin contact and coin non-contact surfaces, respectively, of an inclined coin path to face each other. A second oscillation coil is arranged on the coin non-contact surface to be separated from the reception coil by a predetermined distance in a coin rolling direction and generates an oscillation magnetic field of a high frequency.

  • Patent number: 4951799
Abstract: A method of correcting coin data and an apparatus for inspecting coins in which determination data is formed on the basis of data read out from a permanent memory, and authenticity and determination of coins are determined on the basis of the readout data. At the same time, maximum and minimum values corresponding to physical characteristics of coins are obtained. When the number of stored coins reaches a predetermined number or an operating time reaches a predetermined duration, the maximum and minimum values are updated. When such updating is performed a predetermined number of times, a standard deviation is also updated.

  • Patent number: 4644109
Abstract: In a coin telephone, a self diagnosis function and an alarm information transmission function upon formation of a loop in an off-hook mode are utilized. Upon reception of a ringing signal from a maintenance control center, self diagnosis is performed. Upon detection of a failure, a content of the failure and a control number of the coin telephone are sent to the maintenance control center. A failure check for a coin telephone which is not frequently used can be performed from the telephone center without requiring an off-hook operation.

  • Patent number: 4612418
Abstract: A method for controlling task processes using a minimum of energy. The task processes are divided into two or more groups in accordance with an execution priority. The individual task processes within each group are further prioritized with respect to each other. The method is driven by repetitive processing cycles. During each processing cycle, the highest priority task of the highest priority group is selected and executed. The method assumes a sleep or low power drain state in response to the completion of the execution of a selected task process or when no task process is available for processing and is returned to an operational state in response to the next processing cycle. The task process of the lower priority groups are selected at a longer execution cycle rate which are an integer multiple of the processing cycles.
