  • Publication number: 20130106543
Abstract: An electromagnetic contactor has a contact device including a contact housing for housing a pair of fixed contact pieces and a movable contact piece disposed to contact with and separate away from the pair of fixed contact pieces, a pair of arc-extinguishing inner permanent magnets disposed on inner peripheral surfaces of the contact housing, and a pair of arc-extinguishing outer permanent magnets disposed on outer peripheral surfaces of the contact housing at a section facing the arc-extinguishing inner permanent magnets. Magnetic pole surfaces of the arc-extinguishing inner permanent magnets are arranged in a close vicinity of the movable contact piece and are magnetized to have the same polarity facing each other. The arc-extinguishing outer permanent magnets are magnetized in the same direction as the arc-extinguishing inner permanent magnets disposed nearby and coercive force of the arc-extinguishing outer permanent magnets is greater than of that the arc-extinguishing inner permanent magnets.

  • Patent number: 5945609
Abstract: A mass flowmeter for measuring the flow rate of a fluid by generating a Coriolis force in a measuring pipe includes a housing and a mechanism for supporting the pipe in the housing. The support mechanism includes a generally cylindrical hollow beam and first and second end support members. The measuring pipe is supported inside the hollow beam by the end support members. A vibrator for vibrating the measuring pipe and two sensors for detecting these vibrations are provided in the housing. The effective vibrating length of the measuring pipe is set shorter than the effective vibrating length of the support mechanism so as to set the vibration frequency of the measuring pipe higher than the natural frequency of the support mechanism, without reducing the rigidity of the support mechanism or using any additional mass.

  • Patent number: 5753826
Abstract: The invention concerns a Karman's vortex flow meter including dampening members for absorbing vibrations. A stopper is provided to permit limited movement between an amplifier casing and a supporting stand containing a flow detector. The stopper is coupled to one of the supporting stand and the casing and extends into a hole in the other of the supporting stand and the casing. The flow meter includes an elastic member positioned in the hole between the stopper and the other of the supporting stand and the casing so that the stopper and the other of the supporting stand and the casing are out of direct contact. The elastic member absorbs vibrations and prevents direct contact of the components to ensure accurate flow measurement.

  • Patent number: 5563350
Abstract: A Karman's vortex flow meter eliminates the problem of external vibration resonating an amplifier casing to lower measurement accuracy of a vortex detecting section. In the flow meter, O-rings fit in two annular grooves formed on an outer surface of a supporting stand hollow cylinder. A casing fits onto the hollow cylinder of the supporting stand with the two O-rings being placed therebetween. A pair of blind holes or recesses formed in the hollow cylinder diametrically oppose one another and are located between the two O-rings. Bolts inserted into the recesses with gaps spaced around their end portions serve as stoppers by limiting axial movement of the casing with respect to the hollow cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5488870
Abstract: Measurement of a mass flow rate is accomplished by equalizing the output amplitude values of upstream and downstream sensors without causing a lowering of the mechanical Q of a vibration system. One of the upstream and downstream sensors includes a permanent magnet disposed on a side of a tube and an induction coil disposed on a side of a base, the output voltage amplitude of which is fixed. Another sensor includes a ferromagnetic member disposed on the side of the tube and an excitation coil and an induction coil disposed on the side of the base. The output voltage amplitude of the induction coil is controlled to be coincident with the output voltage amplitude of the induction coil by adjusting a DC current flowing through the excitation coil.
