The tipper apparatus comprises a card feeder for feeding a card; a pusher for pressing a color ribbon against the embossed section of the card fed by the card feeder; a ribbon driver for advancing and winding the color ribbon; and a controller for controlling the card feeder and the ribbon driver on the basis of tipping signals received from a host apparatus, transporting the card and the effective section of the ribbon to the pusher, and actuating the pusher.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a card (such as a cash card) reject and recovery method, enabling to provide a reduced size of card reading/issuing apparatus capable of identifying an error cause for respective cards. The card issuing apparatus comprises: an embosser for embossing an error identification pattern on a card; an information reader for reading an information of a card; and a controller for determining, according to the information of the card, whether the card has an error. The card recovery method comprises steps of: feeding a card which has been determined to have an error, to the embosser; identifying an error identification pattern; and embossing on a card determined to have an error, a corresponding error identification pattern.

Abstract: A multi-hopper embosser comprising a card processing apparatus (13, 14, 15) for performing encoding, embossing and tipping processings on a card, plural hoppers (11) which are connected to the card processing apparatus via a loader unit (12) and adapted to stock cards therein, and a control apparatus (18) for controlling the card processing apparatus and the loader unit (12) to take out the card from a selected one of the plural hoppers (11) and perform the encoding, embossing and tipping processings on the card taken out.
