  • Patent number: 5045926
Abstract: In a television image display apparatus, one field of an input video signal is divided into a plurality of areas in each of which image information is sampled, and an arithmetic processor provides a video control signal on the basis of preset adjusting data received from a memory and the sampled image information. Luminance, chrominance or sharpness levels can be automatically controlled for each field by such video control signal to maintain the video display in an optimum state. Noise problems typically associated with dark images or weak electric fields are eliminated, while improving the image quality by adjusting the video output for each field.

  • Patent number: 4929564
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing InP single crystals containing impurities such as Fe, Co, Ti, Cr or the like by cutting the single crystals into wafers or blocks and heat-treating the cut wafers or blocks at temperatures ranging from 400.degree. C. to 690.degree. C. Further, the invention is related to a method for producing compound semiconductor devices employing Fe-doped InP single crystals as the substrate of the device. In this method, the InP single crystals are cut into wafers and the cut wafers are heat-treated at temperatures ranging from 400.degree. C. to 690.degree. C. Further, the wafers are implanted with ions and heat-treated at 690.degree. C. or lower to activate the implanted ions. These methods ensure to produce the single crystals and the compound semiconductor devices which have superior electrical properties.

  • Patent number: 4854232
Abstract: In a method of multi-color offset printing each of a plurality of blankets is contacted with respective printing plates corresponding to each color of the blankets to transfer their respective colors to each of the blankets. Then, each of the blankets is contacted with respective preceding printing plates whose colors are respectively printed prior to that of each of the blankets for transferring color ink of the respective preceding color printing plates to each of the blankets. Next, each of the blankets is pressed in the predetermined order onto a sheet of printing paper to transfer each color ink to the printing paper one after one another.

  • Patent number: 4841367
Abstract: A video source selecting system for a television receiver has a built-in video tape recorder (video deck) for sequentially selecting for display, a plurality of video signals on various channels, such video signals including at least a video signal from the built-in video deck, and a video signal from at least one external video input terminal. A selected video signal is supplied to a monitor television receiver. When the built-in video tape recorder is placed in its playback mode, the plurality of video signals are switched selected sequentially, while when the built-in video tape recorder is not placed in its playback mode, it is skipped by the switch, whereby the order in which the video signals are switched is in response to the operational state of the built-in video tape recorder.

  • Patent number: 4620229
Abstract: A picture display apparatus has respective modes in which it displays at least three different types of pictures in sequence in response to actuations of a single switch. The picture display apparatus may be incorporated within a conventional television receiver having a programmable timer, and in such case the first type of picture is the normal television picture, the second type of picture is a display of the current day of the week and current time, and the third type of picture is a display of programming information stored in the programmable timer. When the switch is actuated within a predetermined time from the occurrence of a characteristic event in the respective mode, the next type of picture in the sequence is displayed. When the switch is actuated after the predetermined time has elapsed, the first type of picture in the sequence is displayed.

  • Patent number: 4615964
Abstract: A vapor-deposited film of selenium as a photoreceptor for electrophotography contains not more than 50 parts per million of oxygen. In producing the film, the oxygen content in the starting material selenium is controlled so that the resulting film contains oxygen within the specified range. The original oxygen content is reduced by vacuum distillation of the material selenium in a high vacuum, reduced-pressure distillation in high purity hydrogen, or preservation of the selenium shot in vacuo or in an inert gas. The starting material is obtained by mixing or melting selenium with a predetermined amount of selenium dioxide, or by carrying out vacuum distillation either of selenium at a vacuum degree of about 10.sup.-2 torr and thereby converting part of the material selenium into selenium dioxide, or of a mixture of selenium and a predetermined amount of selenium dioxide. The vacuum degree during the vapor deposition is controlled so that the oxygen content in the resulting film is 50 ppm or less.

  • Patent number: 4585621
Abstract: A vapor-deposited film of selenium or selenium alloy as a photoreceptor for electrophotography comprises selenium or a selenium alloy and phosphorus contained therein in an amount of not less the 0.5 ppm and adjusted to attain a desired contrast potential. The selenium alloy is selected from Se-Te, Se-As, Se-Bi, and Se-Sb alloys. The film is produced either by adding phosphorus to stock selenium or selenium alloy and then vacuum-depositing the phosphorus-containing selenium or selenium alloy or by simultaneously vapor-depositing selenium or selenium alloy and elemental phosphorus or a phosphorus compound.
