  • Patent number: 5804152
Abstract: An automotive exhaust catalyst includes a support, which is less likely to adsorb SO.sub.x contained in exhaust gases thereon, an NO.sub.x storage compound loaded on the support, and a noble metal element loaded on the support. The support is an alumina support with a Ti--Zr composite oxide loaded thereon, or is formed of a Ti--Zr or Ti--Zr--Y composite oxide. The composite oxide inhibits the NO.sub.x storage compound, which is selected from alkali metals, alkaline-earth metals and rare-earth elements, from being poisoned by sulfur, and enhances the thermal resistance of the support. Thus, the automotive exhaust catalyst can effectively purify NO.sub.x contained in lean-side exhaust gases, even after it is subjected to a thermal durability test.

  • Patent number: 5723210
Abstract: An organic composite coated steel sheet having excellent chromate dissolution resistance, wet adhesion, and corrosion resistance before and after working. The steel sheet comprises a chromate-silica film on at least one face of a zinc or zinc base alloy plated steel sheet, the silica-added chromate film having about 5 to 500 mg/m.sup.2 in terms of metal Cr content and being formed from a chromate solution containing about 25 to 70 wt % of Cr.sup.+6 based upon total Cr content. A resin coating film is adhered to the chromate-silica film and is formed from an aqueous paint. The aqueous paint includes an aqueous anionic resin and/or an aqueous nonionic resin, a reducing agent, and a water-dispersed silica. The resin coating film is deposited in a dry weight amount of about 0.1 to 3 g/m.sup.2.

  • Patent number: 5598533
Abstract: An electronic apparatus including a personal computer and a facsimile which are compatible with a general personal computer is provided. The apparatus includes a group of ports and a common memory which are provided between the personal computer and the facsimile and are used to transmit and receive various data. An interruption signal generator generates an interruption signal to the reception side of the apparatus when data is supplied between the personal computer and the facsimile through the ports. An interruption processing program which is started when the interruption signal is received is provided in a main memory of a central processing unit of each of the personal computer and the facsimile. With the present apparatus, various software products for general personal computers can be used without any change, while the facsimile function to transmit and receive image data via a line can be effectively used.

  • Patent number: 5072813
Abstract: A damper includes a cylinder, a partition member for partitioning the interior of the cylinder into two liquid chambers, an orifice for generating a damping force by flow of liquid, and a bypass path affording communication between the two liquid chambers. The damper further includes a mass body attached to the partition member that is movable in an axial direction of the cylinder and biased to close the bypass path. The speed of the mass body when opening the bypass path is faster than the speed of the mass body when closing the bypass path.
