  • Patent number: 10642200
Abstract: There is provided a fixing device, in which an operation delay of a safety element is unlikely to occur even if a heater tilts. The fixing device includes a spacer disposed between the heater and the safety element, wherein an area of the spacer in contact with the safety element is smaller than an area of the spacer in contact with the heater, and the spacer is tiltable relative to the safety element.

  • Patent number: 10160601
Abstract: A belt transporting device includes a belt; first and second adjustment members provided at two respective ends of a tension roller in a belt width direction orthogonal to a direction of rotation of the belt, the first and second adjustment members each being movable by receiving a force from the belt; and a link member that interlocks the movement of the first adjustment member and the movement of the second adjustment member. If the belt is laterally shifted in the belt width direction, one of the first and second adjustment members moves by receiving a force from the belt while the other is moved by the link member such that the tension roller is tilted with respect to a driving roller.

  • Patent number: 9529318
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an opening, an openable member, and a movable member for supporting cartridges in a state in which the cartridges are arranged in an arranging direction, movable in the arranging direction while passing through the opening between an inside position and an outside position in a direction crossing the arranging direction and a longitudinal direction. When the movable member is positioned at the inside position, adjacent two cartridges of the cartridges are in an overlapping state as seen in a direction perpendicular to the arranging direction and the longitudinal direction. When the movable member is moved from the inside position to the outside position and then one of the adjacent two cartridges is dismounted from the movable member, the one of the adjacent two cartridges is moved relative to the movable member so as to be prevented from interfering with the other cartridge.

  • Patent number: 9152115
Abstract: The formation position of a primary-transferred toner image is corrected by using, as a reference, a timing at which a marker that rotates together with a rotating member is detected by a marker detecting unit for detecting the marker, after part of a preparation operation in which a processing unit is caused to contact or depart from the rotating member is finished.

  • Patent number: 8938173
Abstract: A fixing apparatus for fixing an image formed on the recording material, includes: a fixing rotatable member for forming a fixing nip; and wrapping preventing members, each provided downstream of the nip with respect to a feeding direction of the recording material, for preventing the recording material from wrapping around the rotatable member. When the recording material is jammed downstream of the fixing nip, the wrapping preventing members move to narrow the space from the rotatable member to the wrapping preventing members by being pushed by the jammed recording material. The wrapping preventing members are arranged in a direction substantially perpendicular to the recording-material feeding direction. Also provided is a connector for connecting adjacent wrapping preventing members to move, when one is pushed by the jammed recording material, to narrow the space.
