  • Patent number: 7018335
Abstract: A blood pressure monitor associates information representing measuring time input from a clock with measured blood pressure values so as to store them in a memory. Blood pressure values measured in a morning time zone and blood pressure values measured in an evening time zone are grouped based on the time information associated with the blood pressure values so as to be stored in the memory. A data intra-group average calculating section calculates averages of the blood pressure values in the groups, and a risk calculating section calculates a risk value based on the calculated results of the data intra-group average calculating section.

  • Publication number: 20050187480
Abstract: A blood pressure measurement apparatus includes a blood pressure monitor measuring a subject's blood pressure, a finger cuff, a pulse wave detector and a pulse rate calculator operative to continuously measure a pulse rate serving as physiological information other than blood pressure, a pulse rate storage storing the continuously measured pulse rate, and a comparator and determiner determining from a previous, continuous pulse rate stored in the pulse rate storage that a currently measured pulse rate is close to a specified level relative to a range in variation of a pulse rate unique to the subject. When the comparator and determiner determines that the currently measured pulse rate corresponds to the specified level, the blood pressure monitor is instructed to start blood pressure measurement.

  • Patent number: 6932773
Abstract: Provide is a wrist type blood pressure meter cuff not oppressing the non-selected artery so as to prevent its pulse waves from mixing into pulse waves of the selected artery necessary for measurement, in a cuff used in a blood pressure meter for measuring blood pressures by selecting and oppressing one artery of the wrist. A wrist type blood pressure meter cuff comprises a fluid bag for oppressing a selected artery of either radial artery or ulnar artery located at the wrist by feeding fluid inside to inflate, and a fixing member for fixing the fluid bag at the wrist. By forming a gap between the fixing member and the wrist, the oppressing pressure directly applied from the fixing member to the wrist at which the non-selected artery is located is set smaller than the oppressing pressure directly applied from the fixing member to other position of the wrist when oppressing the wrist by inflating the fluid bag. This gap is produced by a swollen part provided in the fixing member.

  • Publication number: 20050171442
Abstract: A blood pressure measurement unit measures the blood pressure and a CPU accordingly stores, in a blood pressure storage unit, measurement data as well as time information regarding the time at which the blood pressure is measured. The CPU calculates, as representative measurement data, the average of a plurality of measurement data stored in the blood pressure storage unit and correlated with the time information indicating a time in the range between nine weeks ago and ten weeks ago, correlates the representative measurement data with time information representing the corresponding week and stores the data with the time information in the blood pressure storage unit. At this time, the CPU deletes from the blood pressure storage unit those measurement data based on which the representative measurement data is calculated.

  • Publication number: 20040204653
Abstract: Provide is a blood pressure meter cuff capable of avoiding an influence of an edge effect by pressurizing only a portion of a blood vessel in the downward vicinity of the body surface to thereby measure a correct blood pressure. A blood pressure meter cuff 1 includes: a fluid bag into which a fluid is injected; and a fixing tool fixing the fluid bag on a limb of a human body or the like, wherein a width, in the axial direction of the limb, of the fluid bag is a value suitable for selectively pressurizing only a portion of a blood vessel present in the downward vicinity of the skin. In a case where pressurization is imposed on only a portion of the radial artery present in the downward vicinity of the body surface and adjacent to a radial styloid process of a wrist, a width, in the axial direction of a limb, of the fluid bag is set to 15 mm or more and 25 mm or less.

  • Publication number: 20040147848
Abstract: A blood pressure measuring apparatus oppresses blood vessels of a human body by an inflating unit through a cuff. When the blood vessels are oppressed through the cuff, a pulse wave superposed on a cuff pressure signal through a cuff pressure detector is detected by a pulse wave detector. The waveform of the detected pulse wave changes similarly to changes of pressure in the oppressed blood vessels in one heartbeat period. The information of the detected pulse wave waveform and the cuff pressure at this time are stored in a memory.

  • Patent number: 5522395
Abstract: The amplitude of a pulse wave that appears in a form superimposed upon cuff pressure is detected every beat of a heartbeat in synchronism with the beat not only in the course of depressurization but also in the course of pressurization. The maximum value Amaxi of the pulse-wave amplitude in the course of pressurization is multiplied by a prescribed coefficient to decide a threshold value TH. The threshold value TH is calculated as a value equivalent to a pulse-wave amplitude corresponding to systolic pressure that would be determined in the course of depressurization. After the cuff is pressurized to the target pressure, a transition is made to the depressurizing process. It is judged that cuff pressurization is inadequate if the initial pulse-wave amplitude in the course of depressurization is greater than the threshold value TH. Thus, whether or not cuff pressurization is inadequate can be judged appropriately at all times without any influence due to personal differences or physical condition.

  • Patent number: 5094245
Abstract: An electronic blood pressure meter in which average pulse wave ratio values are computed from pulse wave data as a ratio of a difference between an average pulse wave level and a minimum pulse wave level to a difference between a maximum pulse wave level and the minimum pulse wave level, and the average pulse wave ratio values are used for evaluating a relationship between said cuff pressure and said pulse wave data. By detecting an interval of a relatively sharp and monotonical increase in the average pulse wave ratio as the cuff pressure is gradually decreased, a systolic blood pressure value and a diastolic blood pressure value are determined as the cuff pressures at the beginning and end of this interval, respectively. As these critical points can be detected with relatively little ambiguity and are not much affected by individual differences, an accurate and reliable blood pressure measurement is made possible.
