  • Patent number: 6824486
Abstract: An oil film is formed between side faces of a pump gear and side faces of a pump casing to thereby reduce wear and reduce sliding resistance. To form the oil film predetermined numbers of recesses are provided in both side faces of a drive gear and in both side faces of a driven gear of the gear pump. The recesses serve to hold oil. The oil held in the recesses oozes out to between the opposing and contacting side faces to thereby form the oil films therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20030149999
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a non-human animal model unresponsive to a mycoplasma-derived lipoprotein/lipopeptide, and a method for screening an inhibitor or a promoter for a response to a mycoplasma-derived lipoprotein with the use of the non-human animal model. A non-human animal model whose function of a gene that encodes a protein such as TLR6 that specifically recognizes a mycoplasma-derived lipoprotein is deficient on its chromosome, for example, a TLR6 knockout mouse, is generated. With the use of the non-human animal model unresponsive to a mycoplasma-derived lipoprotein or an immune cell such as a macrophage derived from the non-human animal model, a subject material and a mycoplasma-derived lipoprotein, a response to a mycoplasma-derived lipoprotein in the non-human animal model or the immune cell is measured/evaluated, and then an inhibitor or a promoter for a response to that is screened.

  • Patent number: 6273178
Abstract: The invention addresses the problem of edge bulging and breakout of as cast strip due to a decrease of perfect solid phase shell thickness of the strip caused by heat recuperation of the unsolidified portion of the strip, by providing a chamber 19 which encloses the travel path of a strip 8 delivered from a pair of chilled rolls 1a and 1b, a pair of chilled blocks 29a arranged in the chamber to be positioned near a nip between the chilled rolls 1a and 1b, with each chilled block 29a being shaped for loose fitting over an edge of a strip 8 and being capable of injecting cooling gas toward the edge of the strip 8. When the strip 8 is to be continuously cast, the interior of the chamber 19 provides an inert gas atmosphere, in which the cooling gas injected by the cooling blocks 29a injection-cools the edges of the strip 8 delivered from the chilled rolls 1a and 1b at a position near the nip between the chilled rolls 1a and 1b.

  • Publication number: 20010005374
Abstract: A data reading control unit select packets to be transmitted so that the number of packets that are transmitted per unit time does not exceed the number of packets that can be transmitted per unit time. The data reading control unit performs this packet selection according to the transmission amount per unit time calculated by a transmission amount calculation unit, the priority information in a priority storing unit, and the transmission queue information in a transmission queue information storing unit. The data reading control unit 109 reads pointers to the selected packets from a cycle transmission queue buffer, reads TS packets from a TS packet buffer according to the read pointers, and outputs the read TS packets to a transmission unit.

  • Patent number: 5058055
Abstract: A personal computer such as one of the IBM 5550 range (represented by the IBM 5530, 5540 and 5560) cannot be connected to a label printer because the two machines have completely different control commands. If a converter is placed between a personal computer of the said type and the label printer, the converter can convert or arrange the data, loop-back anh meaningless or unsuitable signals passing between the two devices, and discard any unnecessary control commands, thus permitting personal computers of the above type, which are increasingly popular, to be connected to a label printer and used effectively, and further permitting the online printing of tags and labels via a connection to a host computer.

  • Patent number: 5019249
Abstract: An apparatus for handling sheets of paper has a depositing/dispensing unit for depositing papers put into the apparatus by an operator and for dispensing papers to an operator. Within the apparatus there is a counter unit, a storage box unit and a transporting unit that includes a robot hand for transporting papers between the units. A space is formed within the counter unit between a separating unit and a stacking unit within which the depositing/dispensing unit can move. Also, the space enables maintenance tasks to be performed easily by providing access to the components of the counter unit. The apparatus is capable of handling two kinds of paper in both depositing and dispensing transactions. The counter unit provided with locked covers that prevent access to spaces where paper to be deposited can be stored.
