  • Patent number: 6568159
Abstract: With a conventional baling machine, for tying an article resting on a pallet with a band, the article resting on the pallet is required to be placed in a frame of an arch guide. To solve this problem, the present invention provides a baling machine including a main body having a band feeding mechanism, a band bonding mechanism, and a band cutting mechanism; a vertical table (3) to be aligned with an article resting on a pallet; a band guide (7) provided to be drawn out from under the vertical table (3) in a horizontal direction; a support mechanism for supporting the band guide (7) inside the main body allowing it to slide; and wheels (17) provided to the main body, wherein the band guide (7) slides above the ground contact face of the wheels (17).

  • Patent number: 6484476
Abstract: A lower part 14L of a band way 14, which is incorporated in an arch unit 12, is separated from the other parts of the band way 14. A drive (air cylinder) 35 supports the lower part 14L, allowing the same to move between a substantially horizontal initial position and an inclined position. A band 13 is released from the band way 14 when a packing operation starts. Thereafter, the lower part 14L is moved from the initial position to the inclined position and compressed air is applied to the guide surface 14a of the lower part 14L, thereby removing foreign matter from the band way 14. This sequence of removing foreign matter is performed in, for example, each cycle of packing operation.

Abstract: A lower part 14L of a band way 14, which is incorporated in an arch unit 12, is separated from the other parts of the band way 14. • Patent number: 6086011
Abstract: Front end portions of respective bands drawn out of two band reels are guided in substantially parallel relationship by means of band guide 11. When the band reel in use becomes empty, band feeding unit 30 is driven in reverse to thereby discharge a rear end portion of the band and, further, a front end portion of other band in stand-by condition is moved to a position of use by means of band changeover unit 20. An automatic band charging device can be provided which enables rapidly replacing an empty band reel with a spare band reel and which has a simple structure and realizes a reduced number of constituent parts, thereby contributing to the miniaturization of the packing machine.

  • Patent number: 4867053
Abstract: An automatic strapping machine applies a band around object. Application of the band is achieved by retracting a band from a U-shaped arch surrounding the object. A slidable guide bar unit is mounted on the arch for movement toward and away from the object. The guide bar unit includes a guide passage which receives and guides the band as the band travels toward the object.
