  • Publication number: 20190236222
Abstract: Examples provide a system and method for augmented apparel design. Sensor data generated by a set of sensor devices attached to at least one moveable member of a mannequin in a selected configuration is analyzes to generate motion data. The motion data is analyzed with design data associate with a garment design to generate an augmented reality (AR) overlay including an AR image of an item of clothing conforming to the garment design. The AR overlay is superimposed over a real-world image of a portion of the mannequin to generate an AR display of the item of clothing on the mannequin. As one or more design elements are altered and/or member(s) of the mannequin move, an AR generator updates the design overlay to reflect predicted changes to the garment in response to the changes. The system outputs response data identifying fabric stress points and/or recommended design changes.

  • Publication number: 20150057618
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an insertion site protection device that attaches to an access device. Specifically, the invention is a retention device for access lines and needles used for long-term access of drug delivery portals and pumps used to treat patients for a variety of diseases. The device will allow the clinician to visualize the skin at the insertion site for signs and symptoms of complications such as infection and adds an extra level of securement to help lessen the risk of inadvertent explant of the needle from the fully implanted access device. This is desired as the inadvertent removal of the needle may cause permanent damage to the access device, shortening the devices lifespan or necessitating device replacement as well as damage the skin and tissues over the device causing injury or infection to the patient and making the insertion site unusable.

  • Publication number: 20140345058
Abstract: A system and method of use directed to a pressure monitoring and management system for a subject in the seated or laying position is disclosed herein. More specifically, the present invention relates to a system and method of use for monitoring and managing the pressure distribution and alleviation of pressure of a subject in the seated or laying position for the avoidance of skin and tissue breakdown also known as decubitus ulcers or pressure sores. In one embodiment, the system is comprised of a control member, an air supply member, and bladder members. In another embodiment, the system is also comprised of a user interface member and pressure sensor members. In yet another embodiment, the system is also comprised of moisture sensor members.

  • Publication number: 20050247428
Abstract: Casting method and apparatus for forming fluid cooling passages in the webs having a minimum dimension of 3 mm or less between iron cylinder liners in aluminum engine blocks by utilizing very thin pre-formed reinforced cores inserted between adjacent liners and conjoined with the outer water jacket core. The reinforced core is made of a supportive very thin reinforcing element, preferably in the form of a rectangular metal strip, or other material that withstands the casting process, with a thin coating layer that protects such element and permits its ready removal after formation of the casting, which layer may advantageously and inexpensively be formed of conventional casting sand with a typical binder.

  • Publication number: 20050173091
Abstract: Method and apparatus for forming good quality strong webs having a minimum dimension of 3 mm or less between iron liners in aluminum engine blocks by utilizing pre-formed metallic inserts conjoined with the outer water jacket core, preferably having cooling liquid passages in such inserts bridging the outer water jacket and preferably shaped to fill the interliner gap and formed of the same alloy as the remainder of the block.
