  • Patent number: 6500152
Abstract: According to the invention a working cannula (1) is fixedly joined to a medical coupling element (3) which is placed onto a sealing cannula (2) and can be screwed onto same. The medical coupling element (3) has an actuating lever (34) and a covering plate (39). When the medical coupling element (3) is rotated by means of the actuating lever (34) in relation to the sealing cannula (2), the working cannula (1) is partially pulled into the sealing cannula (2) to such a depth that inlet openings (11) in the proximal end of the working cannula (1) are drawn into a sealing chamber (14) at the proximal end of the sealing cannula (2). This ensures that the outlet openings (6) through which, for example, fibrin adhesive can be administered into the puncture channel, do not enter an artery. In the insertion position the covering plate (39) simultaneously covers the sealing tube (5) through which the sealing material is injected.

  • Patent number: 5827284
Abstract: A device for securing fractures, the device having at least one traction/compression rod, a plurality of bone screws and clamps wherein the clamps have a threaded tubular supporting member. The supporting member is pierced by two diametric, axially staggered through-holes through which the traction/compression rod or the bone screw passes and is therein clamped. The bone screw is adjustably clamped by a supporting ring with a conical outer surface and a mating ring thereon with a conical inner surface and a clamping ring. The traction/compression rod is held only by a clamping ring and thereby provides a particularly economical system which is highly adaptable, easy to use, and particularly suitable for use by paramedical staff.

  • Patent number: 5129904
Abstract: Two bone fragments may be connected by means of an osteosynthetic implant including connecting device and connecting bands comprising reabsorbable, biocompatible material, such as, for example, polygluconate or polylactate, the bands preferably in woven or knit form, and connected to the bone fragments by means of connecting elements. Different types of connecting elements are suitable for use with different types of bone fragments to be connected, and may comprise either tamping liners with tamping counterpieces or hollow screws. The connecting elements have an internal hollow bore, and may be implanted with a special tool to prevent any breakage of the connecting elements. The osteosynthetic implant comprising reabsorbable material is particularly suitable for osteosynthesis in children, since growth disturbances are eliminated.
