  • Patent number: 11520051
Abstract: A system and method for detecting a rotary wing aircraft. A return electromagnetic signal, reflected by a rotary wing aircraft, is received through an electromagnetic signal detection apparatus. The aircraft includes a plurality of propeller blades attached to at least one motor. At least one propeller blade has at least one portion with a reflectivity different from other portions. A first time series data of the return electromagnetic signal is received. A second time series data is determined based on the first time series data and a predefined threshold. A characteristic of the second time series data is used to determine whether it corresponds to the known aircraft.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 16, 2019
Date of Patent: December 6, 2022
    Assignee: Electronic Warfare associates, Inc.
Inventors: Carl Guerreri, Oscar Fahrenfeld, Jason Pizzillo, Tom Bonazza, Deborah McNally

  • Patent number: 9490749
Abstract: A frequency translation device includes a transmit circuit including a first frequency converter configured to convert a signal at a first frequency into a signal at a second frequency. A receive circuit includes a second frequency converter configured to convert a signal at the second frequency into a signal at the first frequency. A detector circuit is configured to determine when the frequency translation device is receiving a signal, and to route the signal to the transmit circuit or to the receive circuit.
