  • Publication number: 20190258875
Abstract: A vehicular driving assist system includes a camera disposed at an equipped vehicle, a wireless communication module operable to wirelessly communicate with other vehicles near the equipped vehicle, and a control that wirelessly communicates with other vehicles via the wireless communication module. The control wirelessly receives license plate information from another vehicle. The control, via processing of image data captured by the camera, determines license plate information of another vehicle. The control determines if the license plate information received wirelessly and the determined license plate information match. Responsive to determination that the wirelessly received license plate information and the determined license plate information match, the control establishes a secure communication channel with the other vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10100800
Abstract: A system for starting a vehicle in cold temperatures includes a temperature sensor and a motor operable to drive at least one electrically operated pump to pump fluid. The motor provides a motor signal indicative of an operating condition of the motor. Responsive to (i) a temperature sensed by the temperature sensor being below a threshold level and (ii) the motor signal being indicative of a stall condition of the motor, the system enters a fluid heating mode. When operating in the fluid heating mode, the system generates heat in the windings of the motor and transfers heat from the motor to the fluid being pumped by the pump.

  • Publication number: 20150048798
Abstract: A battery management system, such as for a vehicle having an electrically powered motor that is powered by a plurality of high voltage lithium ion battery packs, includes a circuit operable to detect active isolation for high voltage lithium ion battery packs. The circuit includes a single bias switch and the circuit detects active isolation utilizing a ratio driven algorithm that takes into account analog voltages with the bias switch open and closed. The circuit utilizes a ratio threshold for acceptable isolation breakdown.

  • Publication number: 20140285936
Abstract: A battery management system for a vehicle having an electrically powered motor that is powered by a plurality of battery cells includes an electrical system for providing voltage and current from the battery cells to an electrical motor. A control is operable to at least one of (a) cause fuses of the electrical system to be the weakest link in the electrical system only during a failure event, (b) disconnect the battery cells from the battery management system only during a failure event, (c) separate the driving of balancing resistors into first and second stages, with the first stage comprising cell balancing control and the second stage comprising cell balancing with reverse voltage protection and (d) provide single stage reverse voltage protection to limit or effectively eliminate an electrical conduction path through a low impedance balancing circuit.

  • Publication number: 20140033724
Abstract: A fuel nozzle assembly for use with a turbine engine is provided. The fuel nozzle assembly includes a tube assembly that includes a plurality of openings, wherein the tube assembly is configured to channel at least a first type of fuel through the turbine engine. A plurality of fasteners are removably coupled to the tube assembly such that each of the fasteners are severally removable from the tube assembly to enable a plurality of different types of fuel to be channeled through the turbine engine for operation of the turbine engine.
