  • Patent number: 11818158
Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for managing network vulnerability scanning to avoid interference and disruption of network operations. In one form, the system includes: a network of computing devices; a network vulnerability scanner for evaluating insecurity and vulnerability of the network; a network traffic monitor for measuring the volume of network traffic at a certain time; and a scanning scheduler that includes scanning blackout events limiting operation of the scanner. Each blackout event includes an event name, a country or region for the blackout, a blackout start time and end time, and a blackout type that may include a level of the blackout and an authorization required for the network scan to proceed. In the system, a control circuit controls operation of the scanner; interrupts, delays, or cancels a network scan when the network traffic exceeds a certain threshold; and enforces blackout events according to the scanning scheduler.

  • Patent number: 10713309
Abstract: A method for searching Web pages that begins with the identification of query criteria entered into a search provider. A set of Web pages that satisfies the query criteria are determined. Then, a page ranking is ascertained for each Web page in the set. The Web pages are presented in order by page ranking. The page ranking is based upon at least one relevancy factor that includes a browsing-time factor. The browsing-time factor can be calculated from browsing behavior exhibited by users, who provided similar query criteria. The set of users from which the browsing-time factor is calculated can include a current user, a set of users sharing characteristics with the current user, and/or a general set of users. Browsing behavior can include time spent at a Web page, where the browsed Web page is a page that was previously presented as a search result for the similar query criteria.

  • Publication number: 20180121980
Abstract: A system for providing a dynamic shopping interface is provided. The system includes an inventory database, a clearance system, and a control circuit coupled to the inventory database and the clearance system. The control circuit is configured to: provide an online shopping interface to a user, the online shopping interface being configured to display a plurality of items for sale based on data from the inventory database, receive, via a network interface, a destination facility identifier selected by the user, determine which of the plurality of items for sale do not comply with destination restrictions of a destination facility associated with the destination facility identifier based on data from the clearance system, and modify the online shopping interface displayed to the user such that any item for sale in the inventor}' database that does not comply with the destination restrictions of the destination facility associated with the destination facility identifier is filtered out.

  • Patent number: 9886505
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for handling contact information in a communication device. The method can include a step of presenting content within a visual interface of the communication device. A contact detection algorithm can execute to detect contact items included in the content. A visual indication can be presented next to each detected contact item. User input can be received, which causes the communication device to perform a contact action relating to one of the contact items. The contact action can add contact information to an address book, can initiate a communication session, and/or can place the contact item in a memory space for later use by an application other than one in which the content was presented.
