  • Patent number: 5775987
Abstract: A system of casino tobacco smoke elimination based around a series of slot-like air intakes in which slot length is at least twice as great as slot height. In a preferred embodiment air velocity measured at the slot mouth should be about 1300 feet per minute, and a properly operating slot intake should provide a critical air capture velocity of about 50 feet per minute measured six inches from the slot mouth. A screen is preferably placed over the intake vents to prevent unwanted items from being pulled into the system. The suction system powering the slot-like intakes can end in a fan/filter unit that removes smoke pollutants and returns the cleaned air to the room, or the smoke laden air may be exhausted to the outside by the buildings air conditioning-ventilation system which also provides conditioned fresh air to replace the exhausted smoke.

  • Patent number: 5562286
Abstract: The present invention provides a smoke-eliminating device of simple construction which can easily be installed onto a preexisting casino gaming table. The fan for circulating air during the purification process is located beneath the gaming table to thereby reduce noise and increase the amount of usable area surrounding the gaming device. The smoke-eliminating device of the present invention is placed between the outer edge of the gaming table and a padded rim above this outer edge. Spaces are placed between the padded rim and the outer edge of the gaming table, to thereby vertically raise the padded edge. The space created between the padded rim and the gaming table is filled with intake vents and the spacers. An air circulator and purifying device is located beneath the table and conduit connects the intake vents to the air circulator and purifying device. The intake vents thus remove cigarette smoke from near the gaming table, purify the air, and release the purified air beneath the gaming table.

  • Patent number: 5514258
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus for electrodepositing metals onto a substrate or the like which creates a uniform laminar flow of the electroplating solution across the surface of the substrate. Specifically, the plating bath according to this invention utilizes an insert plate with a plurality of conical-shaped apertures and a cylindrical tunnel plate to create and maintain a laminar flow of the solution across the surface of the substrate. Additionally, every plate in the invention can be separately and slidably removed to facilitate easy disassembly for cleaning and user customization to achieve the various results and specifications desired by the user.
