  • Publication number: 20170142807
Abstract: A dimmer control includes a plurality of control element units each being operable to select a level between fully on and fully off and a plurality of control units, each control unit corresponding to one of the control element units and being structured to output a control signal based on the level selected by the corresponding control element unit. Each control unit is structured to electrically couple with a control input of a light fixture and the light fixture is structured to control a corresponding controllable characteristic of itself based on the control signal output by the control unit.

  • Patent number: 9332664
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a wiring device with integrated DC output interfaces alongside AC output interfaces. The wiring device converts AC power received from the grid into DC power that can be used directly by DC loads. In certain example embodiments, the wiring device includes USB receptacles as the DC output interfaces. The wiring device also includes various power management enhancement features. Some such features include crimping and soldering electrical wires directly to the AC output contacts and a midframe for insulating certain components inside the wiring device from heat generated by other components.

  • Patent number: 8907582
Abstract: A method for providing a kickstart pulse to a dimmer circuit for a light source that is slow starting. The method includes receiving an initial power signal for a light source electrically coupled to a dimmer circuit, and generating, using the initial power signal, a pulse signal. The method also includes sending, for a period of time, the pulse signal to a load control circuit for the light source. In such a case, the light source is illuminated by the pulse signal for the period of time, and the magnitude of the pulse signal is greater than the magnitude of a steady-state signal generated by the dimmer circuit for the light source. The method can be performed using discrete components, integrated circuits, software, some other electrical device, or any combination thereof. A kickstart circuit and a dimmer circuit, using substantially the method described above, is also disclosed herein.

  • Patent number: 8352103
Abstract: One non-limiting but advantageous aspect of the present invention relates to improved airport efficiency and capacity through higher utilization of a primary runway. The improvements derive from the use of one or more high-speed exit ramps that interconnect the primary runway to a high-speed landing way running parallel to the primary runway. The high-speed exit ramp(s) enable a landing aircraft to negotiate a high-speed transition from the primary runway to the high-speed landing way, so that the aircraft completes its landing roll out and transition to taxiing speeds on the high-speed landing way rather than the primary runway. In at least one embodiment, a computerized landing controller indicates to pilots of landing aircraft whether their aircraft are permitted to take a high-speed exit ramp via control of an associated high-speed exit lighting system.

  • Publication number: 20060025223
Abstract: A method for displaying gambling information in order to improve customer service by displaying a screen of all possible requests by the customer sorted by request and then by area and table number. This is accomplished by allowing a user to enter data through an input device designed to write directly to the program. Then manipulating the information to determine to which area of the information center it applies. Once the program deciphers the correct destination, it connects to the attached database and writes the information to a corresponding table. The system then displays the information in a table format allowing the user to see all requests and hands dealt in the predetermined universe.
