  • Publication number: 20070139398
Abstract: A collapsible stylus (100) is disclosed, which includes at least one spring (202) and a plurality of body panels (204). The at least one spring can be placed along a longitudinal axis of the collapsible stylus. The plurality of body panels can envelope the at least one spring. The plurality of body panels can be forced into an expanded state by the at least one spring in the absence of an external force. Further, the plurality of panels can be compressed into a collapsed state on the application of external force.

  • Publication number: 20060022535
Abstract: A deflection limiting member (110, 310) or a deflection limiting mechanism (512, 514) is used to limit deflection of a motor shaft (102) of a vibrator (105, 305, 505) in a portable electronic device (104,304, 504). The deflection limiting member (110, 310) extends in a radial direction from the motor shaft (102) on a side of the motor shaft (102) that is opposite to the center of gravity (108, 308) of an eccentric weight (108, 308). The deflection limiting member (110, 310) contacts a fixed surface such as a printed circuit board (112) to limit deflection of the motor shaft (102). The deflection limiting mechanism (512, 514) prevents an inertial force of an eccentric weight 510 from being applied directly to the motor shaft (102) under conditions in which there is a high risk of permanent deformation of the motor shaft (102).

  • Publication number: 20050057048
Abstract: The present invention concerns a locking mechanism (100) including a plate (110) and a base (112). The plate has a first projection (122), a second projection (124) and a first surface area (118) for receiving a decorative image (120). The base has a first slot (130) and a second slot (132) in which the first slot runs at least substantially along a first axis (A1) that is at a predetermined angle with respect to a vertical axis (V1) of the base, and at least a portion of the second slot runs at least substantially along a second axis (A2) that is at least substantially perpendicular to the first axis.

  • Publication number: 20050048996
Abstract: The present invention concerns a locking system (100). The locking system includes a plate (110) having a first projection (130) and a second projection (132). At least a portion of the first projection runs at least substantially along a vertical axis (V1) of the plate, and the plate also includes a surface area (126) for receiving a decorative image (128). The locking system further includes a base (112) having a first slot (136) and a second slot (138) in which the first slot and the second slot run at least substantially along horizontal axes (H1, H2) of the base. The first slot detachably receives the first projection when the plate is in a first position, and the second slot detachably receives the second projection as the plate is turned to a second position.
