Patent number: 11066848Abstract: A door locking mechanism is contained within a cartridge for use with a tubular style door lock. The cartridge activates and deactivates the door lock with a manual depression of a push button. Depressing the push button causes a cam to rotate thus converting the axial motion of the push button into a rotary motion thereby activating the door lock. Once locked, both the interior and exterior door knobs may not be rotated. In order to unlock the door, the push button is depressed a second time thereby rotating the cam in an opposing direction and deactivating the door lock.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2017Date of Patent: July 20, 2021Assignee: Spectrum Brands, Inc.Inventor: Oscar Romero

Publication number: 20210172221Abstract: A latch assembly is provided where a latch bolt is moveable to open and close a door by unblocking pivotal movement of the latch bolt. Turning a door knob or door handle does not directly result in a corresponding retraction of the latch within a sleeve, but rather unblocks the bolt to freely pivot away from a latched position. In some embodiments, the latch assembly may include a sleeve that allows for a backset to be infinitely adjusted relative to an aperture of the sleeve. In some embodiments, the latch assembly may further include a dead latch to provide additional security against forced entry.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2017Publication date: June 10, 2021Inventor: Oscar ROMERO, Jr.

Publication number: 20210088108Abstract: The bungee fastener has a tapered chute that accepts a locking slider. A channel forms an opening in a side of the body thereby allowing passage of the slider through the channel. A plurality of slider teeth along a portion of the slider within the tapered chute may lock onto a bungee when the slider is slid into a locked position. The slider moves along the channel, thereby selectively narrowing the tapered chute with the slider teeth as the slider is slid into the locked position and enlarging the tapered chute as the slider is slid into the unlocked position. The bungee fastener may include a single slider or a plurality of sliders.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2020Publication date: March 25, 2021Inventor: Oscar ROMERO

Publication number: 20200222919Abstract: A showerhead engine internally swirls water within a swirling chamber. Multiple swirling chambers may be used, each separated from one another. The water is swirled angled through holes in a mid plate. As the water passes through the angled holes, it is projected out an angle. The water then contacts the swirling chamber wall and continues to follow the curvature of the wall. The curved wall paired with the angled entry causes the water to continue to swirl within the swirling chamber. The water is released out of the swirling chamber through slots, which allow the water to retain the angular velocity at a discharge angle.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 16, 2019Publication date: July 16, 2020Inventor: Oscar Romero

Publication number: 20180328076Abstract: A latch assembly is provided where the latch is moveable to open and close a door by operation of a dead lock assembly that blocks or unblocks movement of a bolt. In a blocked state, a blocking cartridge of the dead lock assembly is prevented from inward movement, blocking inward movement of the bolt. Turning a door knob or door handle causes a spindle extending through the dead lock assembly to move locking bars of the dead locking assembly, the locking bars moving further apart to permit the blocking cartridge to slide there between and move inwardly into the latch housing. The bolt can now move inward by force of the door jamb upon the bolt in order to clear the door jamb when opening and closing the door.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2018Publication date: November 15, 2018Inventor: Oscar Romero
