  • Patent number: 8542810
Abstract: Users are enabled to re-join a conference after an intentional or unintentional disconnect based on detecting the user's identifier. An identifier associated with a user such as a caller id number is determined or a cookie installed in the user's computing device facilitating communications when the user first joins a conference. If the user's connection to the conference is severed intentionally or unintentionally, and the user attempts to connect again, the system may prompt the user whether they want to join the same conference or another conference. If the user confirms their desire to join the same conference, the system may connect them without the user having to enter conference identifier, password, or similar information.

  • Publication number: 20080134934
Abstract: The ink applicable to industrial decoration, especially for products that require a thermal treatment subsequent to the printing by means of an ink injection technique, characterised in that the composition contains a solid part made up of inorganic materials and a non-aqueous liquid part that are homogenised and because of the fact that they can support firing temperatures of between 500° C. and 1,300° C. The function of the solid part is to provide the corresponding colour, whilst the main function of the liquid part is for the inks to have appropriate characteristics to achieve a good performance of same during the ink injection decorating process.

  • Publication number: 20070230050
Abstract: Magnetic head sliders having air-bearing surfaces designed to reduce the protrusion compensation effect. The magnetic head slider includes: at least one front pad located an upstream portion of the slider and operative to generate a lifting force; and a rear pad that is located downstream of the front pad and includes a load-carrying part, for generating a lifting force, and a head mounting part. The head mounting part is separated from the load-carrying part by a groove formed between the load-carrying part and the head mounting part. The head mounting part contains a heat source that generates heat energy and thereby causes a protrusion throw to form on the slider. The groove suppresses formation of the protrusion throw on the load-carrying part and thereby localizes the protrusion throw mostly in the area adjacent to the head mounting part.

  • Patent number: 7233456
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention pertain to a method for loading a slider that eliminates the need for a dedicated landing zone at the outer diameter of a platter. In one embodiment, a slider is lowered from a ramp, which is positioned in close proximity to the outer diameter of a platter, and positioned at an initial fly height above the platter without requiring the dedicated landing zone at the outer diameter. The slider is moved towards an inner diameter of the platter. The slider is positioned at an operating fly height above the platter when the slider reaches a certain position relative to the inner diameter.

  • Publication number: 20050264913
Abstract: An air bearing design enables a slider to fly at a higher fly height when the rotational speed of the disk is reduced to about one-third of its operational velocity. In addition, the slider has a flat profile as it scans the disk surface at a low fly height sigma, and low fly height loss during track seek and high altitude operation. This design also provides write protrusion compensation and thereby mitigates spacing losses due to the write current swelling of the write element protrusion. The leading region of the rear pad of the air bearing is mildly concave. This design produces unexpected results by compressing incoming air flow in such a way that, even under two very different velocities, good air bearing lift is generated while compensating for write element protrusion.

  • Publication number: 20050254174
Abstract: A magnetic head slider including a central pad that is disposed at the trailing edge of the slider and designed to increase the flying height of the slider in response to heat induced protrusion of the head elements. The central pad of the present invention includes a body portion and two arm portions which project forwardly from a leading edge of the body portion, such that the leading portion of the central pad is formed with a generally U-shaped profile. The length of the arm members is preferably from approximately ¼ of the total length of the central pad to approximately ¾ of the total length of the central pad.
