Patent number: 11821532Abstract: A vent device for a vehicle component includes a main body and a cap. The main body includes a central tube and an outer wall. The central tube defines a main vent passage about a central axis. The outer wall is disposed about the tube and cooperates therewith to define a drain passage. The main body defines an outlet of the drain passage open to an exterior. The cap cooperates with the top of the main body to define a vent chamber. The cap and a top portion of the central tube cooperate to define an upper vent passage in fluid communication with the vent chamber, the drain passage, and an outlet of the main vent passage. A bottom portion of the cap at least partially defines a vent outlet radially outward of the drain passage and open to the vent chamber and an exterior of the vent device.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2022Date of Patent: November 21, 2023Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Arturo Alberto Garcia Ramirez, Ricardo Daniel Sanchez Lugo, Luis Felipe Blas Martinez, Oscar Saavedra Zavala

Patent number: 10442377Abstract: A bumper assembly for a motor vehicle includes an energy absorber providing a variable stiffness for different displacements. The energy absorber includes a skin portion attached to a bumper beam, a rib pivotally attached to an end of the skin portion and a reinforced element attached to an end of the rib. The rib is movable from a first position that provides a first stiffness for a first displacement to a second position providing a second stiffness greater than the first stiffness over a second displacement.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2017Date of Patent: October 15, 2019Assignee: FORD GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES, LLCInventors: Jorge Romero, Oscar Saavedra, Jesús Marini

Publication number: 20140095133Abstract: A system includes an interface configured to receive one or more images from an inspection of a component of a mechanical system. Each of the one or more images includes corresponding annotations that at least define one or more dimensions of the component or damages observed in the component. The system also includes a processor configured to construct a degradation model for the component based, at least in part, on the one or more images and their corresponding annotations received by the interface. The processor is further configured to determine one or more maintenance recommendations for the component based, at least in part, on the degradation model constructed for the component.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 28, 2012Publication date: April 3, 2014Applicant: General Electric CompanyInventors: Francisco Bautista Silva, Luis Alberto Reyes, Noe Aguirre Lira, Walther Diener, Monica Pelayo Granados, Victor Garcia, Oscar Ulises Almeida, Oscar Saavedra
