  • Patent number: 9114708
Abstract: Reference speed values for a vehicle's control system are determined by: determining, using map and location data, route segments, each with route characteristics; performing, simulation cycles, each comprising simulation steps of: predicting the speed when the set speed is imparted as the reference speed; comparing with first lower and upper limit values, which define an engine torque, for use in the next simulation cycle; making a second prediction of the speed when the engine torque is a value that depends on the result of said first comparison in the immediately preceding simulation cycle; comparing the second predicted vehicle speed with second lower and upper limit values, which delineate a range within which the speed is maintained, with an offset added if the vehicle is in a route segment with a steep hill; and determining the reference value based on the second comparison and/or the second predicted vehicle speed.

  • Publication number: 20150191170
Abstract: A system for governing a reference speed vref—dhsc for a downhill speed control system in a vehicle in connection with a downhill gradient. A simulation unit simulates at least one future speed profile vsim for an actual vehicle speed over a section of road in front of the vehicle, based on topographic information. An establishing unit establishes whether the reference speed vref—dhsc is to be allocated an increased reference speed vref—dhsc—schwung. This establishing is based on a comparison of the simulated future speed profile vsim with a permitted magnitude of the increased reference speed vref—dhsc—schwung and/or with an infringement speed vsl. An allocation unit allocates the value of the increased reference speed vref—dhsc—schwung to the reference speed vref—dhsc if this has been established.

  • Patent number: 9043114
Abstract: A module for determination of speed set-point values vref for a vehicle's control systems, comprising an input unit adapted to input, e.g., by the vehicle's driver, of a reference speed vset which is the speed desired by the driver for the vehicle. The module includes a horizon unit to determine a horizon by means of received position data and map data of an itinerary made up of route segments with at least one characteristic for each segment; a processor unit to calculate vref for the vehicle's control systems across the horizon according to rules pertaining to categories in which segments within the horizon are placed, so that vref is within a range bounded by vmin and vmax, where vmin?vset?Vmax, which control system regulates the vehicle according to these set-point values.

  • Publication number: 20150107556
Abstract: A method and a system for control of at least one speed regulator (120), which regulator (120) regulates an engine system (130) in a vehicle (100) on the basis of a regulating algorithm so that an actual speed vact of said vehicle (100) is guided towards a target speed vdes. A change in the target speed vdes is identified. This is followed by determination of an absolute value of a memory term in the regulating algorithm and determination of a configuration of said absolute amount. If the configuration of the absolute value is not desirable, the influence of the regulating algorithm upon the engine system (130) is curtailed.

  • Publication number: 20150059692
Abstract: A speed regulator 120 and a method for operating it. The speed regulator guides an engine system 130 in a vehicle towards a target speed vdes, whereby the vehicle assumes an actual speed vact which describes a zeroing pattern towards the target speed vdes. Priming of the speed regulator 120 is effected on the basis of knowledge about a road section ahead of the vehicle, whereby the magnitude of at least one fluctuation in the zeroing pattern relative to the target speed vdes is reduced. A zeroing pattern with fewer overshoots and undershoots is thus achieved, resulting in reduced fuel consumption.

  • Patent number: 8825394
Abstract: A system having a user interface which presents map data Dmap. An analysis unit analyzes map data Dmap, determining a quality Q for these map data Dmap which are to be presented. The determination is based on whether the respective map data Dmap are available and/or reliable. The quality Q is presented graphically by a presentation unit. The risk of wrong decisions being taken on the basis of deficient map data Dmap is reduced considerably, since the user can easily decide whether there are reliable map data or not.

Abstract: A system for handling errors in map data Dmap. Information I related to map data Dmap is determined by a determination unit. An identification unit then identifies at least one error in the map data Dmap on the basis of the information I determined. Thereafter a storage unit stores data D related to the at least one error identified in map data Dmap. A data providing unit can then at least partly disregard the map data Dmap including the error, when supplying map data Dmap, so that the stored data D may instead be used in decision making. The risk of decisions being based on erroneous map data Dmap may thus be minimized.
