  • Patent number: 4213401
Abstract: A support arrangement for a workpiece table of a gear testing machine which is mounted at a machine frame by means of an antifriction bearing arrangement to be rotatable about a vertical axis. Between the machine frame and the workpiece table there are arranged, coaxial with the antifrication bearing arrangemement, two support rings which can be rotated relative to one another between a rest position and a support position and vice versa. These support rings engage with one another by means of a number of pairs of complementary inclined surfaces which ascend opposite to the direction of rotation from the support position to the rest position and can be moved, by relative rotation, out of the rest position where they enable the workpiece table to rest upon the antifriction bearing arrangement, into the support position where they relieve the antifriction bearing arrangement from the load of the workpiece table.

  • Patent number: 4166323
Abstract: Gear testing apparatus has a tooth flank probe or feeler displaceable in a spatial co-ordinate system by being mounted on a series of three support members each movable in a different direction. Scales monitoring the member movements feed member position data to a computer in which a movement programme is stored. In one arrangement, the computer programme controls movements of all three members and deviations in tooth flank form cause deflections of the feeler that are evaluated by the computer. In another arrangement, two of the members are driven by the programme data and the third member is displaced by biassing means to hold the feeler against a tooth flank, the computer comparing said displacements with reference values to evaluate deviations in the tooth flank form.

  • Patent number: 4062125
Abstract: Gear tooth testing apparatus with a rotary test gear mounting has a mechanism for controlling the relative movements of a test probe and of the gear under test, the motions being interconnected by a lever pivotable about the gear mounting axis. The lever has a second pivot connection to a straight-edge that rolls on a rolling cylinder co-rotating with the gear to generate an involute motion, and a third pivot connection to an auxiliary slide associated with the probe. The lever is longitudinally displaceable with respect to all three pivot axes whereby its position relative to the pivot axes at different settings of the apparatus is controllable in a manner limiting the necessary size of the apparatus for a given working capacity.
