Patents by Inventor Oskar Schallmoser

Oskar Schallmoser has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Publication number: 20050088116
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a circuit for starting or operating discharge lamps which are designed for dielectrically impeded discharges. In this case, it is established in advance, with the aid of an overvoltage protection circuit and test power pulses, whether the discharge lamp is connected.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 14, 2004
    Publication date: April 28, 2005
Applicant: PATENT-TREUHAND-GESELLSCHAFT FUR ELECKTRISCHE GLUHLAMPEN MBH
    Inventor: Oskar Schallmoser
  • Publication number: 20050078458
Abstract: The invention relates to a circuit for operation of a lamp with a component 4 to be cooled and with a heat sink 6, 6? which includes an angle of 10°-70° with a circuit board 1.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 6, 2004
    Publication date: April 14, 2005

    Inventors: Reinhard Lecheler, Oskar Schallmoser
  • Publication number: 20050035722
Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic ballast for a dielectrically impeded discharge lamp (L), which ballast has an inductor (W1, W2, W3) with a winding (W2) that can be short-circuited.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 27, 2004
    Publication date: February 17, 2005
Applicant: PATENT-TREUHAND-GESELLSCHAFT FUR ELEKTRISCH GLUHLAMPEN mbH
    Inventors: Reinhard Lecheler, Oskar Schallmoser
  • Publication number: 20050035719
Abstract: The invention relates to a ballast and its operating method for a dielectrically impeded discharge lamp. The ballast contains a transformer having a third winding which can be short-circuited via a switch. By this means, the injection of the voltage pulse into the lamp circuit may be controlled by an external trigger signal.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 3, 2004
    Publication date: February 17, 2005
Applicant: PATENT-TREUHAND-GESELLSCHAFT FUR ELEKTRISCH GLUHLAMPEN MBH
Inventors: Harald Dellian, Reinhard Lecheler, Oskar Schallmoser
  • Publication number: 20040183455
Abstract: An elongated electrode of a dielectric barrier discharge lamp is divided into two component electrodes (A, A′) by a gap (L). The two component electrodes (A, A′) are driven in an ignition phase in such a way that an auxiliary discharge that facilitates the ignition of the main discharge (E) in the region of the electrode gap (L), in particular when the lamp is in the dark. In normal operation, the component electrodes (A, A′) are driven in such a way that they contribute to the generation of the main discharge (E).
