  • Publication number: 20200305213
Abstract: According to a first exemplary embodiment, a wireless terminal may provide DC communication through an MN using an MCG over a first radio interface between the wireless terminal and the MN and through a SN using a SCG over a second radio interface between the wireless terminal and the SN. A split SRB may be configured for the wireless terminal using DC through the MCG with the MN and through the SCG with the SN and the wireless terminal may be configured to use the SCG for the split SRB without using the MCG for the split SRB. Responsive to detecting failure of the SCG while configured to use the SCG for the split SRB without using the MCG for the split SRB, an SCG failure information message regarding failure of the SCG may be transmitted to the master node using the MCG.

  • Publication number: 20200296637
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate e.g. to a method performed by a master node (QQ160) for handling communication of a wireless device (QQ110) in a wireless network. The master node (QQ160) transmits, to a secondary node, SN, a message before initiating a SN change procedure, which message indicates that an SN change is pending and as such the SN should not perform either a secondary cell group, SCG, reconfiguration or trigger any SN triggered procedures.

  • Publication number: 20200267631
Abstract: A method performed by a User Equipment (UE) for handling multiple Secondary Cell Group (SCG) configurations in a wireless communications network is provided. The UE receives (1201) from a network node: a first SCG configuration of a first Secondary Node, SN, and an indication of whether or not the first SCG is to be configured as active or inactive, and a second SCG configuration of a second SN, and an indication of whether or not the second SCG is to be configured as active or inactive. The multiple SCG configurations comprises at least the first SCG configuration and the second SCG configuration. The UE then decides (1202) whether to handle each respective SCG configuration out of the multiple SCG configurations according to a first option or a second option based on its respective indication. The first option comprises when one or more out of the respective multiple SCG configurations are indicated to be configured as inactive, storing (1203) that particular SCG configuration.

  • Publication number: 20200267787
Abstract: A UE operating in a RAN may be configured to receive new radio, NR, radio resource control, RRC, messages from a secondary network node. The NR RRC messages may each contain a number that the secondary network node added to the NR RRC messages to indicate their respective order in a sequence which the NR RRC messages were sent by the secondary network node. The NR RRC messages may each contain parameters that the UE uses to configure its communications through a NR interface with the secondary network node. The UE may send NR RRC complete messages toward the secondary network node responsive to receipt of the NR RRC messages, wherein the NR RRC complete messages each contain an indication of the NR RRC message that was received. The UE may control the sending of the NR RRC complete messages to indicate to the secondary network node whether the NR RRC messages are received in an order that is the same as the sequence.

  • Patent number: 10721773
Abstract: Certain embodiments disclose a method in a network node. The method broadcasts a location of a time and/or frequency resource of a first Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH). The first PRACH has a static location. The method determines a location of a time and/or frequency resource for a second PRACH. The location of the second PRACH is determined dynamically. The method communicates downlink control information to a wireless device. The downlink control information indicates the location of the second PRACH. The method receives a random access attempt from the wireless device. The random access attempt is received via the first PRACH or the second PRACH. The method communicates a random access response to the wireless device.

  • Patent number: 10694477
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein relating to beam-switching in a wireless system. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a User Equipment device (UE) that transmits and/or receives to and/or from a source Antenna Node (AN) on a source beam comprises performing a Mobility Reference Signal (MRS) search to attempt to detect MRS transmitted by one or more candidate ANs for one or more candidate beam. The method further comprises, if one or more conditions that are indicative of the MRS search being unsuccessful are met, transmitting an indication that the MRS search was unsuccessful. In this manner, one or more network nodes are informed that an action(s) (e.g., assisted beam-formed MRS transmission and/or increasing MRS transmit power at candidate AN(s)) needs to be taken to enable a successful MRS search by the UE.

  • Publication number: 20200187064
Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a method by a first network node operating as a secondary node for a wireless device having dual connectivity to the first network node and a second network node operating as a source master node is performed during a handover of the wireless device from the second network node operating as the master node to a third network node operating as a target master node. The method includes receiving, from the second network node operating as the source master node, an indication that the first network node is to release one or more resources for serving user plane data to the wireless device.
