  • Publication number: 20120139676
Abstract: A magnetic field generator (10) comprising an assembly (20) of permanent magnets (30) inside which the magnetic flux concentrates. The assembly comprises opposed first and second elements (21, 22) that include magnets (30). The elements (21) and (22) are arranged substantially in the same plane and surrounded by respective closing mechanisms (51, 52). The permanent magnets (30) are made up of parallelepipedal blocks, arranged substantially in an arc of a circle according to three areas: a central area (60), a first side area (70) on one side of the central area (60), and a second side area (80) on the other side of the central area (60). The permanent magnets (30) of the first and second (70, 80) side areas have opposite directions of magnetization. Two parts (91) and (92) of a ferromagnetic material, forming a magnetic flux concentrator (90), are arranged on either side of the air gap (40).

  • Patent number: 8191375
Abstract: A device (10) for continuously generating cold and heat by a magnetic effect. The device includes a magnetic field generator (13), which is arranged in at least one crown segment and defines an annular space crossed by a circular coaxial part (11) provided with radial transverse cavities (31) and contains at least one type of magneto-calorific material. The inventive device also includes a circulating pump (27) for axially supplying a heat carrier to the cavities (31). A first collector (33) picks up the heat carrier, which passes through the radial cavities (31) in the area containing the magnetic field generator (13), and a second collector (34) picks up the heat carrier which passes through the radial cavities (31) in an area located outside of the magnetic field generator (13).

  • Publication number: 20100146989
Abstract: The invention concerns a rotary magnetic refrigerator/heat pump able to operate in a continuously working process, able to be applied in industrial thermal processes and having a high efficiency and a low cost manufacturing. The rotary magnetic refrigerator (10) comprises a magnet (11), a magnetocaloric ring (12) and a fluid conducting subassembly (13). The fluid conducting subassembly (13) comprises a horizontally positioned rotating disc (14), frame-suspended with bearings (15 and 16) in stationary ducts above (17) and below (18), which serve to supply and evacuate a working fluid (19, 20, 21, 22). The rotating disc (14) has two circular arrays of hollow sectors (23 and 24), one close to each of its planar faces. Every hollow sector (23 and 24) comprises a slot (25 and 26) to the adjacent planar surface and to the circumferential surface of the rotating disc (14).

  • Patent number: 7481063
Abstract: The device (10), for the continuous generation of cold and heat by magneto-calorific effect, comprises a mixture of a heat exchange fluid and particles made from at least one magneto-calorific material, superconductor or phase-change material circulating through a first heat exchanger (11) subject to a magnetic field generated by magnetic device (14), associated with the first heat exchanger (11). On passing into the generated magnetic field, the particles undergo an increase in temperature and heat the mixture in the first heat exchanger (11) and on leaving the magnetic field, the particles undergo a reduction in temperature to cool a mixture entering a second heat exchanger (12). A cold circuit (16) extracts the cold from the second heat exchanger (12) and a hot circuit (15) extracts the heat from the first heat exchanger (11).

  • Patent number: 7481064
Abstract: The device (10) for continuous generation of cold and heat by the magneto-calorific effect, comprises a chamber (11), divided into two adjacent compartments (12, 13), separated by a wall (14). The chamber (11) contains a rotating element (15) made from at least one magneto-calorific material, a first circuit (17a) with a first heat exchange fluid circulating therein and a second circuit (17b) with a second heat exchange fluid circulating therein. The chamber (11) is connected to magnetic device (16) for generating a magnetic field in the region of the compartment (12) in which the rotating element (15) is located. When the above is set in rotation the part thereof located in the first compartment (12) is magnetized upon undergoing an increase in temperature. On passing into the second compartment (13), the part is demagnetized upon undergoing a cooling.
