  • Publication number: 20190118115
Abstract: A sample catching system for cleaning a drilling fluid in a drilling operation includes a first line having a first entrance valve configured to allow the drilling fluid to flow into the first line, a first chemical sensor for measuring the amount of hydrogen sulfide of the drilling fluid in the first line, and a first sample catch valve configured to allow the drilling fluid to flow out of the first line. The system also includes a second line having a second entrance valve configured to allow the drilling fluid to flow into the second line, a sample catch pump, and a controller configured to determine the amount of hydrogen sulfide is above a predetermined threshold value, and open the second entrance valve to divert drilling fluid intake from the first line to the second line, and close the first entrance valve to stop the drilling fluid from entering the first line.

  • Publication number: 20190118118
Abstract: An auto cleaning system for cleaning a drilling fluid in a drilling operation includes a first line, a second line, an auto clean pump operatively connected to the first line and the second line, and an electromagnetic device around at least a portion of the first line, wherein the electromagnetic device is energized when the drilling fluid is passing through the first line. The auto clean pump is configured to receive the drilling fluid from the first line or the second line and remove metal particles from the drilling fluid. The system also includes a controller configured to determine a pressure difference in a line, at least partially open a valve to divert drilling fluid intake from one line the other, and close the first entrance valve to stop the drilling fluid from entering the first line.

  • Publication number: 20180306005
Abstract: A system for cleaning a wellbore can include a bottom hole assembly that is designed to be run downhole into a wellbore after the wellbore has been drilled and before the wellbore has been cleaned. A control sub-assembly is mounted on and carried by the bottom hole assembly. The control sub-assembly is designed to be positioned within the wellbore. Multiple cleaning sub-assemblies are interchangeably mounted on and carried by the bottom hole assembly. Each cleaning sub-assembly is designed to be positioned within the wellbore. The multiple cleaning sub-assemblies include at least two of the following sub-assemblies: a scraping sub-assembly that scrapes an interior of the wellbore, a brushing sub-assembly that brushes the interior of the wellbore, or a magnetic sub-assembly that magnetically captures debris within the wellbore.

  • Publication number: 20180072936
Abstract: The method comprising the steps of mixing an amount of scavenger into a drilling mud to produce a scavenger-containing drilling mud such that the scavenger-containing drilling mud has a scavenging capacity, wherein the drilling mud is at a target pH, and introducing the scavenger-containing drilling mud into the wellbore during drilling operations, where the scavenger-containing drilling mud is operable to work with a drill bit to drill the wellbore, where the amount of scavenger in the scavenger-containing drilling mud is operable to irreversibly react with hydrogen sulfide present in the drilling mud to produce a scavenged hydrogen sulfide.
