  • Patent number: 11952903
Abstract: A microturbine comprising a turbine. a compressor, and an electric generator operating on a single shaft. The microturbine is designed segmenting the assembly into three subassemblies: a micro turbine engine subassembly, a turbine air sourcing housing subassembly, and a compressor air supply and electronics subassembly. The configuration enables efficient assembly, maintenance and repairs, as the operational components can be diagnosed at a high level and the subassembly can be exchanged quickly to optimize uptime. The micro turbine engine subassembly includes an integrated ceramic compressor and turbine assembly and a generator installed in a single unit that is slideably inserted within an interior of the turbine air sourcing housing subassembly. The compressor air supply and electronics subassembly is assembled to a respective end of the turbine air sourcing housing subassembly. The microturbine creates compressed air, heated air, and electrical power.

  • Publication number: 20220113086
Abstract: A liquefied natural gas (LNG) management system that stores natural gas in a liquefied state in an isothermal storage tank. A modular multi-fueling platform is in fluid communication with the isothermal storage tank. The modular multi-fueling platform includes a LNG conditioning tank, a compressor, a heat exchanger, a heater, plumbing, associated valves, various sensing transmitters, and a programmable logic computer (PLC). Data acquired by the PLC determines actions by the modular multi-fueling platform, including operation of valves, the compressor, etc. The system transfers LNG between the storage tank, the conditioning tank, and a cargo tank (consumer's vehicle tank). The system employs steps of heating and compressing the LNG and boil off gas to maintain the LNG at temperature. The system employs pressure differences for transferring the LNG between tanks.

  • Publication number: 20200072124
Abstract: A microscale energy cogeneration system comprising at least one micro/nano-turbine for converting fuel into mechanical energy and a generator for converting mechanical energy produced by the micro/nano-turbine into electrical energy in the range of 1 to 5 kWh. Compressed air passes through a cold side of a heat exchanger. The compressed cold air and fuel delivered to a combustion chamber drives the turbine. At least one heat exchanger receives high temperature exhaust gas from an exhaust passage downstream from the micro/nano-turbine for heat transfer. The heat exchanger can be used to heat water and/or air of a house. A water heating system can be coupled to the heat exchanger for converting tap water into potable hot water and/or converting cool air into hot air. The portable micro/nano-turbine set can be scaled up by interconnecting several units to a network for balancing out the energy demand of multiple users.

  • Publication number: 20200069305
Abstract: A knot tying device including a sheath configured for placement over a surgical instrument. The sheath includes a proximal end portion and a distal end portion. The distal end portion is elastically reconfigurable between a straightened configuration and a hook shaped configuration. Position of the sheath on the surgical instrument is adjustable between an extended position in which the sheath extends beyond a distal tip of the surgical instrument and a retracted position in which the sheath is pulled back from the distal tip of the surgical instrument. The distal end portion is in the hook shaped configuration when the sheath is in the extended position and the distal end portion is in the straightened configuration when the sheath is in the retracted position. In exemplary embodiments, the knot tying device may include one or more magnets or one or more magnets as an integral part of a surgical instrument.

  • Publication number: 20120312105
Abstract: The proposed mechanism is applied to a reciprocating piston compressor including at least two twin cylinders in each of which a set of piston-rod are housed. Both pistons being driven by the same driving means which in turn is driven by a crankshaft coupled to a motor. The assembly is also mounted on a chassis and covered with a casing. This mechanism comprises a parallelepiped housing defined by two side covers each of which is attached to the end of said rod. Such covers are linked to a driving piece that is in turn linked to the crankshaft counterweights. That way when the crankshaft rotates causes the up-down movement and at the same time a linear horizontal one.
