  • Patent number: 7416420
Abstract: Conductive adhesive bonds are used preferably where the contact bonds are subject to great temperature variations, for example, on a throttle valve controller. In order to increase the mechanical stabilization of the conductive adhesive bonds, the surface of the contacts are machined and provided with structures such as ribbing, prickles, etc. As a result of this structuring, the conductive adhesive interlocks mechanically at these points. This leads to a high contact reliability also at extreme temperature changes.

  • Patent number: 7146723
Abstract: The mechanical connection of contacts through induction soldering is improved. To which end, a plastic dome is produced through preliminary encapsulation by injection molding of at least one contact and subsequent final encapsulation, where the two contact geometries to be joined can, for example, be premated. With an appropriate solder preform, the plug-in connection can be secured through induction soldering by enclosing this dome. The appropriate tool is then placed over the plastic dome, by which the heat generated melts the solder preform and securely joins the two contacts to one another.

  • Patent number: 5922971
Abstract: In known sensors, "failure" conditions led to approximately a 10 fold amplification of the failures. Contrary to this, a rotation-angle sensor of this invention provides a rotation-angle sensor housing (5) held within a component cover (1) to have translatory movement, with a rotation-angle-sensor shaft (3) and a component shaft (6) being coupled via a coupling piece (7). Each shaft end (8, 9) of the coupling piece has flat-edge portions, with one shaft end (9) having many more of flat-edge portions than does the other shaft end (8). The rotation-angle-sensor shaft (3) and the component shaft (6) have complementary recesses for receiving the shaft ends. This rotation-angle sensor is particularly adapted to be used for monitoring brake lining of vehicles.

  • Patent number: 5765435
Abstract: A fuel level indicator is mounted on a casing (2) in a fuel tank (1) and includes a float lever (6) connected to a lever arm (17), the float lever (6) having an elbow portion (16) passing through an opening (18) in lever arm (17) and projecting into a hole (15) in a holder (9) for rotation therein. At its lower edge (19) the lever arm (17) engages a collar (20) of holder (9) and at its upper edge (21) the lever arm (17) engages a collar (22) of holder (9). In this way, the lever arm (17), and thereby float lever (6), is guided radially and axially on the holder (9). The float lever (6) is releasably secured to the lever arm (17) by resilient snap tabs (23). Accordingly, precise support of the float lever is obtained with a simple construction and with easy assembly and disassembly of the float lever.

  • Patent number: 5745025
Abstract: A snap-engaging apparatus for use in a rotatable electrical component, particularly a rotatable switch or a rotatable resistor, makes it easier to find operational positions. The snap-engaging apparatus includes a rotor (3) which is formed as a hollow body to have an axial opening and a radial, or circumferential, wall (7). A leaf spring (8) is tensioned to have a U-shape with its ends (9, 11) being self supported against diametrically positioned parts of the circumferential wall (7). A snap-engaging contour wall surface (19) coaxially surrounds the rotor, with a snap-engaging nose (15), formed on an extension (14) of one end of the leaf spring, being springingly urged thereagainst in a radial direction. The circumferential wall (7) has an opening (17) through which the snap-engaging nose (15) extends.

  • Patent number: 4887971
Abstract: An RF-shielded coupling part of a cable having a shielding sheath within jacket is provided, which can be firmly mounted to the cable in a simple and RF-tight way by using simple parts. For this purpose, a metallic stopper is firmly pushed onto the jacket, which surrounds the circumference of the jacket. The contact area of the shielding sheath is solderlessly clamped in between the stopper and a slotless shield. The shield is in a close relationship to the stopper at its entire circumference and is held to the stopper in a form-fit connection.

  • Patent number: 4771262
Abstract: A drive means of a rotary potentiometer is arranged to work trouble-free in the case of misalignment between the rotary axis of the rotating body and the rotary axis of the driving member. Teeth are arranged in the rotating, or rotary body, the crests of which teeth are directed to the rotary axis. The driving member is adjacent to the one flank of the one tooth and the one flank of the other tooth. The flanks of the teeth are involutely rounded off, so that the applied torque remains substantially constant in event of any misalignment of the driving member axis with respect to the body axis.

  • Patent number: 4758185
Abstract: A multipoint connector provides a contact support element for holding cont blades staggeredly arranged in two rows of chambers. To simplify the structure of the multipoint connector, the contact support element comprises a first and a second support element being integrally formed with respective housing half-shells which are pivotally connected so that they can be opened, or closed upon each other. The separating surface between the two support elements is arranged such that all chambers are located in the first support element. The contact blades may be inserted into the chambers from the separating surface when the support elements are open. The second support element closes the chambers when it is closed upon the first support element.

  • Patent number: 4702708
Abstract: The invention pertains to a plastic plug-type connector module which carr a printed circuit board made of ceramic. A plurality of plug members each have a rear projecting end soldered to a contact member made from a spring material, and have another portion embedded by injection molding in an insulating carrier body. The contact members in turn make contact with edge contact surfaces of the printed circuit board. In order to simplify the manufacture and to achieve soldering guaranteeing reliable contact, part of a perforated band from which the contact member is cut off is left in place. This part is also used to solder the contact member to the plug member. In order to align the surface of the printed circuit board as exactly as possible parallel to a first, flat surface of the module, there are provided molded locally limited elevations with different heights on a second flat surface which carries the printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 4568136
Abstract: A socket terminal strip is provided for receiving a complementary plug st provided with knife contact pins. The socket terminal strip has an insulating body in whose chambers contact members are arranged. A row of webs extending crosswise is positioned longitudinally on the back side, which webs are separated from each other by incisions, so that a chamber-like arrangement is formed. In order to provide for increased connection possibilities with different contact assignment for the same number of contacts, a row of webs and incisions is provided on each of the two longitudinal edges on the back side of the insulating body, which webs and incisions are staggered. An incision of the second row is thus opposite to a corresponding web of the first row, and a web of the second row is opposite to a corresponding incision of the first row.

  • Patent number: 4139749
Abstract: A switch actuated by a control lever associated with a steering column for operating direction-indicating lamps, switching the headlights to low and high beam, operating the screen wiper and actuating similar functions includes a housing in which an end portion of a flexible band-type cable is fixed. The control lever is mounted in the housing for rocking about a pair of mutually perpendicular axes and actuating a pair of sliders each guided within the housing for movement along one of the axes. The band-type cable includes a plurality of printed conductors covered by an insulation. At the end portion of the cable, the conductors have exposed portions not covered by the insulation, which exposed portions form fixed contacts cooperating with movable contacts carried by the sliders. The remaining portion of the cable extends outwardly of the housing for connecting the fixed contacts to a power supply and the respective electrical devices operated by the switch.
