  • Publication number: 20170001081
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an iron type golf club head, including forming an iron type golf club head blank, the iron type golf club head blank having an oversized hosel portion and an oversized body portion, the iron type golf club head blank configured to accommodate a plurality of iron type golf club heads, each iron type golf club head having a unique loft angle; and removing material from said oversized body portion of said iron type golf club head blank.

  • Patent number: 9498686
Abstract: The invention generally relates to golf clubs with adjustable mass properties. In certain aspects, the invention provides methods and mechanisms for adjusting a club head center of gravity and/or moment of inertia by way of an adjustable weight assembly positionable along the sole of the club head body. When in a first position, the weight assembly provides a lower center of gravity so as to increase launch angle and reduce spin rate, resulting in greater overall distance of ball flight. When in a second position, the weight assembly provides a greater mass moment of inertia, which effectively enlarges the sweet spot and produces a more forgiving club for off-center hits.

  • Publication number: 20160296808
Abstract: A golf club head with a variable center of gravity is disclosed herein. More specifically, the present invention discloses a wedge type golf club head wherein the center of gravity of the golf club head is adjustable along an x-axis in a heel to toe direction utilizing weights that are placed substantially near a sole portion of the golf club head. The resulting golf club head may generally have a more toe biased center of gravity location, especially when compared to a traditional golf club head. The present invention also discloses an innovative way to construct the golf club head to achieve those desirable center of gravity locations by utilizing various attachment techniques with different materials having different densities.
