  • Patent number: 5530039
Abstract: Process for manufacturing stopping compounds, in particular such as can be used for motor vehicle repair lacquering, in which in a first stage at least 90 wt.-% of the solvents required and 80 to 100 wt.-% of the binding agents required are dispersed together with such a proportion of the pigments and/or extenders as is required in order to ensure that the mixture can be dispersed in a high-speed agitator mill, as well as optionally together with the required additives in a high-speed agitator mill, in particular a bead mill or sand mill, whereupon the dispersed material produced is, in a second stage, mixed with the remaining amounts of pigment and/or extender as well as optionally the remaining amounts of binding agent and solvent and dispersed in a dissolver to the required fineness.

  • Patent number: 5520955
Abstract: Aqueous spot fillers, containing at least one water dilutable, olefinically unsaturated binder, conventional pigments, fillers and adjuvants, corresponding to a solids content of50-90 wt %10-40 wt % of water and0-10 wt % of one or more organic solvents, the water dilutable, olefinically unsaturated binders containing anionic groups or groups convertible to anionic groups, corresponding to an acid number of 25-175 and being the reaction products ofA) 40-80 wt % of one or more polydiene oils,B) 5-25 wt % of one or more polymerisable olefinically unsaturated monomers containing anionic groups or groups convertible to anionic groups,C) 0-10 wt % of one or more bis-(2-oxazolines) andD) 0-40 wt % of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers.the percentages of A), B), C) and D) adding up to 100 wt %.The spot fillers can be used for the preparation of multi-layer coatings, especially on motor vehicles.
