Abstract: A cutting tool, in particular a knife, includes at least one blade with a blade body and a cutting edge. In order to grind or polish the cutting tool with precision even without a grinding template, provision is made for the cutting tool to have at least one supporting portion which defines a supporting plane by means of which, for the purpose of grinding and/or polishing the cutting edge, the cutting tool can be stably placed on a planar underlying surface, the blade body therefore being oriented at a working angle ranging from 65° to 80° in relation to the underlying surface. A set for grinding and/or polishing a cutting tool and also a corresponding method are likewise disclosed.

Abstract: A method for producing a roll grinder with two running rollers, a handle body arranged between the running rollers and can be rotated relative thereto, and at least one grinding or polishing surface. The method includes steps of: producing the handle body; measuring the handle body in order to determine the actual dimensions of the handle body; providing at least two differently dimensioned types of spacer elements, by means of each of which a different distance can be set between one of the running rollers and the handle body in the installed state of the roll grinder compared to at least one other type; selecting one of the types of spacer elements provided depending on the measured dimension of the handle body; and connecting the handle body to the running rollers to form the roll grinder while using at least one spacer element of the type selected.

Abstract: A method for producing a rolling sharpener having at least one grinding or polishing face for grinding and/or polishing a cutting tool, the rolling grinder being formed substantially from two rollers, a grip body to be arranged between the rollers and rotatably relative thereto, and a shaft to be supported rotatably in the grip body. To make correct operation of the rolling grinder user-friendly and to facilitate correct operation overall, each of the rollers is connected to the shaft in a frictionally engaged manner.

Abstract: A sharpening jig, in particular for holding a cutting tool which is to be sharpened or polished and which includes a blade, and for positioning the blade at least at one positioning angle with respect to a sharpening and/or polishing tool, e.g. a rolling sharpener. In order to be able to position the blade at different positioning angles and thus allow the sharpening jig to be used with more versatility, the sharpening jig has at least two parts which are movable relative to each other to set different positioning angles.

Abstract: A magnetic sharpening jig, in particular for holding, by magnetic force, a cutting tool which is to be sharpened or polished and which includes a magnetizable blade, and for positioning said cutting tool relative to a sharpening and/or polishing tool, e.g. a rolling sharpener. In order to provide a versatile magnetic sharpening jig, the magnetic sharpening jig includes at least one flexible contact element with which the magnetically attracted blade of the cutting tool comes into contact during normal operation. Also disclosed are a set including a magnetic sharpening jig and a rolling sharpener, as well as a method for sharpening or polishing the cutting tool using the magnetic sharpening jig.

Abstract: An apparatus (1) is used in the production of brushes for the preparation of completely processed bristle bundles. Bristle strand material (4) is thereby conveyed with the aid of a feed mechanism (5) to a grinding device (6) where its free ends are processed into what will become the ultimate useful ends. By this processing, the free length of the bristle strand ends, and thus their ability to deflect laterally during grinding as well, can be exactly adjusted to this work procedure. This processing can be adapted to differing bristle material, or even adapted to differences in the desired rounding off results. The actual length of the final bristle bundles does not play a role in this, since the cutting of the bristle bundles to length does not take place until a following work step.
