    Abstract: A motor vehicle having a front engine and all-wheel drive, wherein the wheels of the front axle are continuously driven, while the drive for the wheels of the rear axle is capable of being made either connectable or permanent via a lockable center differential or automatically by way of a viscous-coupling device arranged in the driveshaft line between the front axle and the rear axle. The coupling is arranged in such a way that the front and rear axles are coupled together essentially rigidly with regard to torque, there being provided in the train of the driveshaft line transmitting the torque between the front and rear wheels at least one free-wheeling mechanism with free-wheel lock. The free-wheeling mechanism is arranged so that--in the unlocked state--its free-wheel part coupled with the rear-axle drive is capable of overriding its free-wheel part coupled with the front axle drive, the free-wheeling mechanism being locked during drive operation and released upon actuation of the service brake.

    Abstract: In the particular embodiments described in the specification, a pressure-actuated brake system for motor vehicles with a brake slip control includes a control means electronically detecting the commencement of a brake slip control operation to provide a signal to increase the brake pressure of at least some of the other wheels which are not yet under brake-slip regulation. The pressure applied to those wheels is increased above the pressure inherently applied by the operator's actuation of the brake pedal at the wheel brake cylinder until such time as brake slip regulation commences at those wheels as well.

    Abstract: A hydraulic brake system for a vehicle includes first and second brake lines communicating with first and second rear wheel brakes, respectively, for supplying hydraulic fluid under pressure thereto and first and second valves arranged in the first and second brake lines, respectively. Each valve has a deceleration and acceleration responsive movable valve member controlling, as a function of its position, the flow of hydraulic liquid through the brake line with which the movable valve member is associated and a guide track guiding the associated movable valve member with a single degree of freedom of motion. Each guide track slopes downwardly towards the vehicle rear at an angle .alpha. with respect to a horizontal plane and further, each guide track inclines away from the longitudinal vehicle axis outwardly towards the vehicle rear in the direction of the associated rear wheel brake at an angle .beta. which a vertical projection of each guide track onto a horizontal plane defines with the vehicle axis.
