Abstract: A motorized water hydrant of the type operated by a bi-directional electric motor assembly is provided with a mechanism for operating the hydrant in the event of electric power failure. A motor drive shaft rigidly coupled to a valve stem on the hydrant has first and second portions of circular and hexagonal cross-section, respectively. A handle member having a hexagonal aperture therein is slidably mounted on the drive shaft for movement between a first position in which the first portion of the shaft may rotate freely within the handle aperture, and a second position in which the second portion of the shaft mates with the handle aperture and prevents the motor drive shaft from rotating in the motor assembly. The motor assembly is rotatably mounted on the hydrant housing for movement about the valve stem axis. When the handle is moved to its second position and the motor assembly is manually rotated about the valve stem axis, the hydrant operates manually.

Abstract: A peristaltic action pump filler includes a frame for supporting an elongate fill tube. A carriage member is mounted to the frame for reciprocating translation therealong. The carriage member includes a pair of pivotably mounted and oppositely disposed roller assemblies. The roller assemblies are interconnected to the carriage member such that, dependant upon the direction the carriage member is being translated, they are caused to pivot toward or away from the elongate fill tube which is supported therebetween. A valve mechanism is mounted to the support frame and coupled to fill the tube. The valve mechanism is interconnected to the carriage member so as to govern the amount of material discharged therefrom.

Abstract: A machine for removing and installing bearings on the ends of wheel sets including a gage for measuring wheel size and for aligning the wheel sets with bearing removing or installing devices according to wheel size and for transporting the bearings automatically to and from a conveyor.

Abstract: A gage for locating the center of circular workpieces including a primary probe engageable with the periphery of a workpiece along a radial plane, a secondary probe spaced from the primary probe and swingable about a pivot axis coaxial with the engagement point of the primary probe, and a gage surface assuming a particular angular relation to the plane depending on the extent of the swinging movement of the secondary probe, the angular disposition of the gage surface being indicative of the distance between the periphery and the center of the workpiece.
