Abstract: A collapsible prosthetic heart valve includes a stent and a valve assembly. The stent includes an annulus section and at least one foldable section. The stent is movable between an unfolded condition in which the foldable section is longitudinally spaced from the annulus section, and a folded condition in which the foldable section is at least partially positioned radially adjacent the annulus section. • Publication number: 20170072191
Abstract: An implantable medical device is disclosed herein and can be in the form of an implantable medical lead or a leadless pulse generator. The implantable medical device includes a body, at least one electrode and a tube-cut helical fixation anchor. The body includes a distal end and a proximal end opposite the distal end. The at least one electrode is supported on the body. The tube-cut helical fixation anchor distally extends from the distal end. The tube-cut helical fixation anchor may be fixed or extendable/retractable relative to the distal end. The tube-cut helical fixation anchor may be a result of a manufacturing process comprising cutting the tube-cut helical fixation anchor from a thin-walled tubular body.

  • Publication number: 20160354204
Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve includes a stent having an expanded condition and a collapsed condition. The stent includes a plurality of distal cells, a plurality of proximal cells, a plurality of support struts coupling the proximal cells to the distal cells, and at least one support post connected to a plurality of proximal cells. The proximal cells are longitudinally spaced apart from the distal cells. Various strut configurations and connections of the struts to the proximal cells and of the proximal cells to the support post improve stent flexibility and reduce stress in the valve leaflets.

  • Publication number: 20150351905
Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve includes a collapsible stent extending from an inflow end to an outflow end, and a cuff having an inflow end an outflow end. The stent includes first and second circumferential rows of cells defined by first and second pluralities of struts, respectively. The second circumferential row is positioned closer to the outflow end of the stent than the first circumferential row. At least one cell in the second circumferential row includes by a first strut opposed to a fourth strut and a second strut opposed to a third strut. A bridging feature in at least one cell in the second circumferential row includes first and second supplemental struts extending across an intermediate portion of the cell. The outflow end of the cuff is coupled to the stent along the bridging feature.

  • Publication number: 20150327995
Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve includes a collapsible and expandable stent extending from an inflow end to an outflow end and a plurality of prosthetic valve leaflets coupled to the stent. The prosthetic heart valve may also include a sealing ring coupled to the inflow end of the stent, the sealing ring comprising a tube extending circumferentially around the inflow end of the stent. The tube may be formed from a wire coiled into a repeating shape, such as a rectangle or a diamond, so that the tube is collapsible. A covering may at least partially surround the tube. The sealing ring may include a first filler positioned within the tube and/or a second filler positioned between the tube and the covering.

  • Publication number: 20150265400
Abstract: An anchoring device for use within a cardiovascular structure includes an expandable ring having a central axis extending in a longitudinal direction. At least one leg extends from the ring in the longitudinal direction. The leg includes a first end connected to the ring and a free end, with at least one anchor connected to the leg. The anchoring device may be used to anchor a transcatheter heart valve within the cardiovascular structure.
