  • Patent number: 4730142
Abstract: The shadow mask of a color picture tube is connected to studs in the faceplate via hold members. To secure the hold members in position, screw or pressfit fasteners are inserted into the free ends of the studs. The heads of the fasteners force the hold members against the studs.

  • Patent number: 4700106
Abstract: A color picture tube comprises electron guns disposed in the corners of a triangle, a slit-type shadow mask and a phosphor screen consisting of vertical phosphor stripes. In the electron-gun system and/or on the side thereof facing the deflection unit, or between the electron-gun system and the deflection unit, there is provided an additional magnetic deflector. This deflector serves to deflect the electron beams such that, within the range of action of the deflection unit, they extend in a horizontal common plane passing through the tube axis.

  • Patent number: 4663561
Abstract: Hold members are used for abutting a shadow mask on the pins in the rim portion of the faceplate of a color picture tube. These hold members are of a two-part design and connected to one another with the aid of means permitting a transverse movement in relation to the axis of symmetry of the color picture tube. These means may consist either of a swivel joint or of a straight line motion device. During the first insertion of the shadow mask into the faceplate, any possible tolerances of the pins can be compensated for because the possible transverse movement of the hold members. The spacing between the shadow mask and the phosphor screen is not affected.

  • Patent number: 4644222
Abstract: In a color picture tube, the shadow mask is suspended in a way such that the pins inserted into the rim portion of the faceplate are aligned vertically in relation to the axis of symmetry of the color picture tube. The free ends of the pins are of spherical design, and comprise a conical part. Two-piece, trapezoidal hold members for the shadow mask rest on the pins. Each of the hold members is resiliently pressed upon the pins by a locking spring.

  • Patent number: 4565420
Abstract: A novel space-saving socket and base assembly for high-voltage picture tubes is disclosed. The inventive socket, which does not project over the base in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the picture tube, is obtained by optimizing the air and creepage paths of the socket and base through the use of an aperture positioned in the base for locating the high-voltage lead. This effectively reduces the overall length requirements for mounting these tubes inside equipment housings, and the size of these housings thereby.

  • Patent number: 4335492
Abstract: Heretofore, the tube neck, the seal edge extending along the largest circumference of the funnel section, and reference pads located at or near the seal edge have been aligned relative to each other. It is proposed to align the seal edge, the reference pads, and the tube neck in relation to the longitudinal axis of a "transition section" (portion between neck-funnel seal and position of deflection on the funnel yoke) in such a way that the axis perpendicular to the plane bounded by the seal edge and the reference pads, the longitudinal axis of the neck coincide with the longitudinal axis of the "transition section".

  • Patent number: 4285013
Abstract: In a shadow-mask color-picture tube, adjustability of the deflection yoke on the tube is required. A ring is mounted around the front portion of the deflection yoke. The ring being supported by the yoke is free to move axially and can be swivelled. The ring is also lockable into a fixed position.
