  • Publication number: 20090182289
Abstract: An introducing device for introduction of a medical device into a body is described which has a distal region with a tip region for generating an opening in the skin, and a segment region which comprises at least two sections which, in a rigid state, are essentially rigidly connected at least to one another and to the distal region and which are movable relative to one another in a flexible state. Furthermore, a system is described in which a sensor is integrated into the device for introduction into a body.

  • Publication number: 20080214909
Abstract: Catheter for monitoring the concentration of an analyte in a body fluid having an implantable distal area (7) for the uptake of body fluids and a proximal area (8) with an outlet opening (14), wherein the catheter comprises a catheter casing (1) having microopenings which are permeable to at least part of the body fluid and at least partially hold back corpuscular components, and a catheter core (2) which is located in the catheter casing (1). The catheter core preferably has a microstructure on its peripheral surface and/or the catheter casing has a microstructure on its inner wall which form a hollow space between the catheter core and catheter casing. Moreover the invention concerns a method for the manufacture of such a catheter.

  • Publication number: 20080200887
Abstract: For an assembly for receiving body fluids comprising a sampling element (10) that has a collecting area (12) for collecting body fluid obtained by a puncture, it is proposed that the collecting area is formed by a longitudinal slot (12) which is elongated as a capillary that is open on both sides via side openings (28, 30) on the sampling element (10).

  • Patent number: 7300525
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for cleaning pipette needles or stirrers, the device comprising a trough which holds cleaning fluid and whose lower region has a fluid duct for filling and/or emptying purposes and whose upper region has at least one feed pipe which leads into at least one nozzle directed into the trough interior. Advantageously, the device has a cylindrical trough and in insert with nozzles which is screwed into the trough. The invention further concerns a method of cleaning pipette needles or stirrers, the material to be washed being introduced into the trough interior and sprayed with a washing fluid. The device can also be used to flush the interior of a pipette needle.

  • Publication number: 20070016103
Abstract: Body fluid sampling device comprising a skin-piercing element having a collection zone for receiving body fluid, and the device further comprising a fluid receiving means remote spaced apart from the collection zone so that body fluid in the collection zone will not contact the fluid receiving means initially. The collection zone takes up a very small volume of body fluid of about 10 to 500 nl in a very short time period of less than 0.5 seconds. The fluid receiving means may have a test zone for performing an analytical reaction. Fluid sample from the collection zone is automatically or manually transported to the fluid receiving means to contact the fluid with the test zone.

  • Patent number: 6623697
Abstract: Analysis device for analyzing samples, in particular of body liquids, with respect to components contained therein. It comprises a plurality of liquid handling (LH) stations. At at least a part of the LH stations there is a production of liquid waste whereby said LH-station form liquid waste sources. The liquid waste is evacuated, with at least one pump, from the liquid waste sources, with different proportions of air, via a liquid waste conducting system, into a liquid waste container. A substantial reduction of foam production is obtained by connecting at least two liquid waste sources to the liquid waste container via at least two liquid waste lines leading separately into the liquid waste container, whereas liquid waste sources with a higher average air proportion are connected to a first liquid waste line and liquid waste sources with a lower average air proportion are connected to a second liquid waste line.

  • Publication number: 20030114789
Abstract: A needleless hypodermic injector device comprises pyrotechnical means for generating gas sufficient for injecting a medication. The device includes a housing with a first chamber which contains a medication unit storing liquid medication to be injected and a second chamber which contains a propellant container, a propellant within the propellant container, and an igniter. The medication unit has a deformable first region and a second region with an injection outlet in liquid communication the first region. The first chamber of the housing includes two zones, a first zone containing the medication unit and a second zone which is in communication with the second chamber, so that upon ignition of the propellant in the second chamber gas generated thereby expands into the second zone of the first chamber, deforming the first region of the medication unit thereby causing ejection of the liquid medication through the ejection outlet.

  • Patent number: 5853591
Abstract: An aquarium filter system having a rotatably mounted filter body. The filter body is structured such that when mounted with a portion of the filter body submerged in moving water, rotational movement is imparted to the filter body by the moving water. As a result of the rotational movement, at least a portion of the filter body is alternately exposed to the water and the atmosphere. This fosters the growth of aerobic bacteria on the surface of the filter body. The aerobic bacteria reduces the level of toxins within the aquarium water.
