  • Publication number: 20220378658
Abstract: The invention provides a drug mixing and injection system, in particular an adapter for said system enabling the preparation of drug formulations. In a first aspect, the invention relates to an adapter for a drug mixing and injection system comprising a first subunit (110) adapted to hold a vial (113) and a reservoir (115) with injectable liquid, a second subunit (120) comprising a valve (115) and an outlet port (122), at least one internal adapter channel (131), a first cannula (134) between the vial (113) and the internal adapter channel (131), wherein the adapter (100) has a resting position and an activated position. In another aspect, the invention relates to a drug mixing and injection system (200) comprising the adapter of the first aspect of the invention, a vial and a reservoir with injectable liquid.

  • Publication number: 20050014459
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for automatically forming raw tuna loins into homogenized, formed packets and packing said packets into bags for freezing and shipping to distant canning plants. A conveyed stream of raw tuna loins is tamped and compacted into a homogenized tuna stream of a predetermined height and width with dimensions compatible with processing equipment at the canning plant. A predetermined length of the homogenized tuna stream is measured and cut into packets and automatically packed into bags of predetermined size. In one embodiment, a servo controlled, intermittent advance conveyor is provided which is adapted to periodically advance said stream of raw tuna loins a distance which corresponds to the length of the bags into which the tuna is being packed. The apparatus for homogenizing the raw tuna loins is either a ski-shaped tamper driven by rotating cranks or a top belt including a pressure cylinder for urging the top belt into contact with the stream of raw tuna loins.

  • Patent number: 4863351
Abstract: An airscrew for propelling an aircraft has a hub, a jacket and a plurality of propeller blades secured by blade necks to the hub. These blade necks are secured to the hub with symmetric or equal angular spacings around the hub between neighboring radial blade neck axes. Each propeller blade has a longitudinal axis. At least certain of these longitudinal blade axes extend at different sweep angles relative to the respective radial blade neck axis. When the sweep angle is positive the respective sweep of the blade is a positive sweepback with a trailing sweep of the respective blade relative to a rotational direction of the airscrew. When the sweep angle is negative the respective sweep of the blade is a negative sweep forward with a leading sweep of the respective blade relative to a rotational direction of the airscrew. These differing sweep angles achieve a substantial noise reduction compared to conventional airscrews having a completely symmetrical construction.

  • Patent number: 4795308
Abstract: In combination with a propeller disposed in an aircraft, aft from the nose portion of the craft, an improvement is provided for reducing noise, as well as mechanical load on the propeller blade, and includes a construction part situated upstream from the propeller and being exposed to the oncoming air flow prior to reaching the propeller, thus being an obstacle that has a particular contour in a plane transversely to an axis of rotation of the propeller, so that at least the rear edge, as seen in peripheral direction of rotation of the propeller, forms an angle that is not zero in relation to a leading edge of the propeller, when the propeller as a whole is in a horizontal disposition.

  • Patent number: 4273949
Abstract: An arc furnace roof has a central portion formed by a circular group of individually suspended segments having sides which cooperatively form openings for the passage of arcing electrodes. Each segment is formed by a metal shell having cooling water inlets and outlets and internal baffles causing cooling water to be guided through the shell so that cooling is adequate to avoid the need for lining the bottoms of the segments with thick refractory linings, the bottoms being only coated with a thin layer of refractory electrical insulation. The electrode openings have refractory electrical insulation to isolate the segments from electrode currents.

  • Patent number: 4178173
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an improvement in a process for preparing a stainless steel of low carbon content from a steel melt containing chromium or chromium nickel of higher carbon content where the process is carried out in a converter having at least one blast nozzle below the molten steel bath level and at least one blast lance above the bath level wherein oxygen is supplied to the steel melt through the blast lance and inert gas is supplied through the blast nozzle during a first refining phase, and in a succeeding refining phase oxygen is combined with inert gas and introduced through the blast nozzles to the steel melt, the proportion of the oxygen being reduced in relationship to the proportion of inert gas with decreasing carbon content of the steel melt. The improvement of the invention permits a decrease in the amount of inert gas supplied during the first refining phase while not significantly increasing the refining time.
