  • Publication number: 20080311327
Abstract: The invention relates to a plastic tube comprising a tube body consisting of a multi-layer film (5) that includes at least one gas- and water-tight barrier film (7). The barrier film (7) has a polyglycolic acid (PGA) layer (9), at least one side of which is connected to a thermoplastic plastic layer (13, 15) by means of a layer (11, 12) consisting of an adhesion promoter. The adhesion promoter (11, 12) comprises a metal compound and has a layer thickness of between 100 and 500 nm.

  • Patent number: 6916516
Abstract: Packaging material, for example, for tube bodies, bearing a hologram-like image. The packaging material is formed for a multilayered material with a layer structure containing: (a) a completely or partially embossed metal foil or metallized plastic film, and (b) on top, at least in specific areas, a transparent single or multilayered plastic layer. The plastic layer (b) forms the outer lying layer of the packaging. The embossed image on the metal foil (a) is visible through the transparent areas of the plastic layer (b). The packaging material gives the observer the impression of viewing a hologram-like image.

  • Publication number: 20040009345
Abstract: In a process for manufacturing a multi-layer tube material having a barrier layer (12) situated between plastic layers (10, 14)—to hinder the passage of water vapor and gases—and featuring a pattern in one of the layers of the tube material micro-embossing created by micro-embossing (M) and producing a optical effect, the individual layers are joined to make a multi-layer tube material; in the said process one of the layers (12) in the form of a foil/film is embossed and joined up with the other layers thus forming the tube material. A multi-layer tube material manufactured using the that process exhibits a structure in which at least one single-layer or multi-layer plastic layer (10) which is transparent at least in some areas, a metal foil (12) with micro-embossing (M) on the side of the plastic layer (10), and at least one functional layer (14) in the form of a single-layer or multi-layer plastic layer.

  • Patent number: 6352781
Abstract: A composite plastic film comprises a plastic film which is coated, as desired at least on one side, with ceramic material deposited using a vacuum thin layer deposition process and a plastic layer deposited by extrusion coating on the plastic film or on the ceramic layer which may be present, such that the ceramic layer is situated between the plastic film and the plastic layer deposited by extrusion coating. In order to improve the strength of bonding, a metal layer of chromium, aluminum, nickel, titanium, iron, molybdenum or an alloy made up from at least two of these metals is provided, as an aid to bonding, between the plastic film or on the ceramic layer which may be present and the plastic layer deposited by extrusion coating. A thin metal layer deposited in such an amount that it has a thickness of approximately 0.1 to 0.5 nm corresponding to a monatomic coverage is sufficient for this purpose.
