  • Patent number: 4692217
Abstract: The invention relates to a readjustment device on coking oven batteries with linkages, disposed in a master gallery so as to be movable in the longitudinal direction of the battery, for the actuation of shutoff members on the individual ovens of the coking oven battery. The linkages, to be moved simultaneously and oppositely in the master gallery, are joined to each other at one end of the coking oven battery through a guide pulley and this guide pulley is provided with pulley segments having different radii to obtain different strokes at the linkages.

  • Patent number: 4620828
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for tilting and turning coke-oven doors for the purpose of maintenance and repair. It comprises a door-receiving support frame with upper guide rollers, which are guided in a guide rig having parallel rail pairs. At the lower end of the support frame a firmly connected drive device engages, which is movable on a raised horizontal rail track. The drive device pulls the support frame from the vertical into the horizontal position and pushes it back into the vertical position. The guide rig includes a vertical part and an inwardly extending part contiguous thereto. The center between the guide rig on the coke side and the guide rig on the machine side is interrupted. The rail pairs end at the bottom in sturdy stops for the guide roller. The invention is thus an accident proof tilting device, with sufficient space for repair purposes being available on the working platform.

  • Patent number: 4574034
Abstract: A method of monitoring the reversal system of coke oven batteries comprises monitoring the position of the air valves, waste heat discs, and gas cocks in each of the coke ovens of a battery, measuring and centrally registering the temperatures and/or flow rates of the fluids supplied into and discharged from the oven, namely of combustion air, gases and waste gases, comparing the measured values with the desired values corresponding to the position of the system elements, and upon an undue deviation, signals for carrying out safety measures, such as actuating a gas deficiency safety, are automatically delivered. Also measured may be the oil pressure in the lines for supplying the hydraulic signals actuating the reversal mechanism, with again a release of alarm signals. A device for monitoring the reversal system includes an apparatus connected to the valves for shifting all of the valves between an operating position in one characteristic way to an operating condition in another characteristic way.

  • Patent number: 4232566
Abstract: A switching lever mechanism for operating a switching lever between two end positions comprising first and second laterally spaced apart cams, a follower lever physically mounted between its ends and including one end with a roller follower disposed between the cams. An opposite end of the follower lever is connectible to a member for shifting the member. A socket is formed on the follower lever between the roller follower and the pivotal mounting thereof and a bolt having a spherical head is pivotally mounted on the socket. A bracket mounted in a stationary position alongside the follower lever is provided with a set screw having a head portion. A sleeve is pivotally mounted on the head portion and carries the bolt. A spring biases the sleeve and bolt outwardly to hold the follower lever in either of its two end positions.

  • Patent number: 4159924
Abstract: A combined control device for the operation of coke oven batteries which includes both a part for converting from heating with a strong gas to a lean gas, and vice versa, and a part for switching the regenerative heating system from one group of heating flues to another, comprises a support frame on which is mounted a rotary switching control cylinder and a rotary conversion control cylinder in end-to-end relationship and for rotation around the same axis. The rotary conversion control cylinder is displaceable in respect to the rotary switching control cylinder, and the two cylinders may be coupled together for rotation together or the conversion cylinder may be shifted axially so that it will not rotate with the switching control cylinder. The switching control cylinder is driven at one side from a motor driven transmission which also permits the manual operation of the cylinders.
