  • Patent number: 8443660
Abstract: An apparatus ascertains a contact area length of a vehicle tire. The apparatus has a transmission unit which has a resonator and which is set up to transmit a sensor signal at a defined frequency. A change in the frequency of the sensor signal on the basis of mechanical excitation of the resonator is indicative of a contact area length for the vehicle tire. Furthermore, the apparatus has a contact area length ascertainment unit which is set up to receive the sensor signal and to take the change in the frequency of the sensor signal as a basis for ascertaining the contact area length of the vehicle tire.

  • Patent number: 7401963
Abstract: A light assembly disperses light emitted by a light source. The lighting assembly includes a light entry surface for receiving the light emitted by the light source. A direction surface directs the light in a predetermined direction. A stepped region, disposed adjacent the light entry surface receives the light directed by the direction surface and reflects the light. The stepped region includes a plurality of step parts, each defining a light deflection surface, wherein each of the light deflection surfaces is greater in area s step distance between the light deflection surface and the direction surface increases.

  • Patent number: 6694402
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for controlling the access, in a computer, of a memory having an erasure frequently limited by blocks. This memory contains utility memory blocks (NB0, NB1) which are available for a user's access by an address conversion occurring through a pointer panel (AZTO). An erasure utility category (LN0, LN1023) is maintained in the form of a table in association with each address pointer maintained in the form of a table in association with each address pointer (AP0 AP1023). This erasure utility category is increased every time a predetermined erasure-state criteria is reached. The other pointing positions of the erasure utility categories (LN0 LN1023) are further explored in the pointer panel (AZTO) until a lower erasure utility category is found. The corresponding address pointer (AP0 AP1023) is then permuted with the one located at the output with the one located at the output pointer position (AP1).

  • Patent number: 6499870
Abstract: A vehicle tail light has a housing having a light source chamber and a light window delimiting one side of the light source chamber. A first light source provides a first signaling function and a second light source provides a second signaling function. The first and second light sources are mounted in the light source chamber remote from the light window. A first reflector, having a first horizontal reflection angle, and a second reflector, having a second horizontal reflection angle, are mounted in the housing opposite the light window. The first light source emits light being reflected at the first reflector onto the light window and passing through the light window to the exterior of the tail light. The second light source emits light being reflected at the second reflector onto the light window and passing through the light window to the exterior of the tail light. The second reflection angle is different from the first reflection angle.
